Aloha to Michele Hart. MIND-BLOWN and LUMINOUS NIGHTS

Mary's on a roll with her reviews, including Michele Hart's MIND-BLOWN,

Fictional, scary story you makes you believe big brother is watching….

I invited Michele for an interview to accompany Mary's giveaway.  From Michele's bio,

A latch-key kid raised in Brandon, Florida, Michele lived for shows about futuristic worlds, fantastic places. Star Trek, Bewitched, Night Stalker. Battlestar Galactica, I Dream of Jeannie, Logan’s Run. Naturally, she found her future in alternate realities. She’s keeping it unreal. She still lives in sunny Florida with her cute little dog Twinkle.

Kim:  Someone from my part of Florida!  And we grew up loving the same TV shows.  I was particularly fond of Battlestar Galactica.  Who was your crush - Captain Apollo or Lieutenant Starbuck?

Michele:  Oh, memories of handsome men blasting off in Egyptian-themed space jets. I loved them both. Apollo had brains and heart, Starbuck had...everything else, all that alpha-male appeal. ***shivers*** No matter how much I talked to the TV, they never heard my wanton sighs. But I kept telling Gilligan to hop a ride home with everyone who landed on that dang beach, and he never listened to me, either. I still talk to the TV. Am I the only one who does that?

Kim:  No, I talk to the TV all the time, especially during game shows.   A random reader on the street tells you, "I am not a futuristic/fantasy reader". Maybe she just hasn't found the right futuristic/fantasy author yet! What three words would you use to describe your books and/or convince the reader to try your books?

Michele:  Roller coaster adventure! Who doesn’t love that stuff! More words? Live an adventure with a hunky hero spinning kick-ass technology to save the worlds. He’s got a hard punch and a mean laser to defeat his interstellar enemies, a soft kiss and skillful hands to conquer his exotic woman. ***wiggling my eyebrows*** That’s way too many words. I’ll have to tie up my random reader on the street to pitch that many words at her. Perhaps I’ll use a freeze beam from a satellite, or call upon a man in a super-soldier suit to hold her there, or a gigantic underground magnet… No, that’s just crazy talk. Invisible cage. There’s so much fun in Sci-Fi Romance! It should be called Sci-FUN Romance. Okay, scratch that. That’s pretty bad. Should have stopped at three words.

Kim:  (laughing) You have a lot of spunk!  Let's assume that Hollywood wants to make MIND-BLOWN into a big budget movie. Who would you cast as the lead characters? Would you like to play a cameo - if yes, which part? Where would you like the movie to premiere?

Michele:  Hmm… Who would play Jon, the brave, sharp, and daredevil executive discovering the medical clinic is doing more than memory tests? Ryan Gosling, really good actor, cute guy. Who would play Holly, Jon’s over-curious assistant submitting to the mysterious tests to save her friends from having their brains hijacked for mind control experiments…and worse? Scarlett Johansson, hands-down. As beautiful a siren as she is, I’ve seen her play roles like Holly, who is far less a sex goddess than a young mother driven far by a need for truth.

It’s fun to consider playing one of the brainwashed patients at the medical clinic, my big chance to show off my method-acting chops. ACTINGGG! Thank you! No, actually, I’m not one for the camera. Let’s have it debut in Dallas where the story’s set. I have a friend in Dallas who would love to see my movie come to her hometown. I’d take her as my date. She’d love that.

Mahalo, Michele, for joining us at SOS Aloha!  I love your website - it puts me in the mood for Battlestar Gallactica.  Or Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin at Walt Disney World (I surprisingly earned more points than my children!)   In honor of your visit, Mary is giving away her review copy of MIND-BLOWN:

Jon Paige discovers his employer is developing mind-control techniques. He quickly learns how to hijack the system and breaks down his beautiful assistant’s persistent walls. Will Holly forgive him, if she ever learns of it?

Holly Maddox is determined not to dip her pen in the company ink, a policy that’s served her well…until Jon comes along. He steals her mind when he’s in the room, weakens her fortitude with every flash of his flirty eyes and secretive smile. How will she keep herself from falling in love with her boss when he melts her impulse control?

When Jon and Holly decide to sabotage the mind-control experiments, they learn they’re up a against a far greater power than they’d bargained for. Doing the right thing risks lives. Will the truth of their beginnings wreck their sizzling affair?

Plus Michele is giving away an ebook of LUMINOUS NIGHTS.

An assassin wearing a holographic mask and a prison tattoo boards Rachel’s freighter during a prison riot, intent on collecting gadgets capable of changing a man’s identity from the black-market gang who'd stolen them. Rachel’s never sure of Jack's identity nor his goal, but he claims to be an Alliance I-Marshal. Cop or convict? The clues never stop contradicting. She's horrified to find the bright holographic mask conceals the gruesome face of a monster. And the badge doesn’t slow him from murdering people right before her eyes.

When Rachel learns Jack will trade innocent lives for the digital miracles, she determines to make the mercenary grow a heart. How could a stone-cold killer kiss her so hotly? How could she kiss such a dangerous deceiver?

Jack has done years in prison to learn who’d stolen the remaining Gemini ticks, 3-D magic. Nothing will keep him from gaining extreme technology capable of unleashing galaxy-wide chaos. Forget feelings for Rachel. She can’t stop him from killing everyone involved.

Mary also reviewed LUMINOUS NIGHTS:

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

Apollo or Starbuck?  Starbuck/Dirk Benedit for me ... I swooned over him as Lieutenant Templeton Peck, aka "Face", on the original A-Team.

Luke or Han?   Luke/Mark Hamill ... I adored Corvette Summer.

Since we are stuck in the 80s .... David Lee or Sammy Hagar?  Both!  Roth's 1984 and Hagar's 5150 were excellent albums for Van Halen!

  11. This is a difficult decision, since I'm a sci fi geek at heart. I cut my teeth on Start Trek TNG, but also loved Firefly and Farscape.

Probably Firefly because in my free time I cyber stalk Nathan Fillion. How could you not love a space cowboy?
