Are you ready for Halloween?  Hubby informed me last night that he bought candy from the commissary before it sold out ... but has carefully hidden it in the house so it doesn't disappear before Halloween.  Smart man!  Today I am giving away a reading treat - book choice from my convention stash - to one randomly selected commenter.  To enter the giveaway,

1.  Leave a comment about Halloween - favorite candy, favorite costume, etc.

2.  This giveaway is open to all readers.

3.  Comments are open through Saturday, October 29, 10 pm in Hawaii.  I'll post the winners on Sunday, October 30.

Mahalo,

  5. Kim,
How did you know that Halloween was my favoirte holiday? Halloween brings back memories from my childhood when you made your own costume and walked door-to-door in the neighborhood with you friends treated by the neighbors with homemade donuts, apples fresh from the orchard and holiday decorated homemade cookies!

My favorite holloween costume was a lion costume I made for my older son who is now 38. It was a "blanket sleeper" with a zipper up the front and feet to keep him warm on a cold night with a tail added and a seperate hood with ears and a mane - yes he was a golden lion and even cuter than The Lion King so famous today. As he grew and it was becoming too short I cut off the feet and added cuffs and he was able to wear it for two long cold winters after that Halloween night!

Every year we still have a lighted pumpkin on the porch and bright lights to welcome the neighborhood children but more and more their parents are driving them to other more populated neighborhoods where more treats are available and no one even knows them. I miss the old days when Halloween was a day for neighbors to treat the children in their own neighborhood and it was safe for the children to walk together to share the fun of Holloween.

  6. I have not bought Halloween candy yet because if I buy it now, I will eat it all....especially since I make the mistake of buying the candy that I like which is most anything chocolate. My favorite is Reeces Peanut Butter Cups. Oh they are so good.

  9. Congratulations, winners.

My favorite Halloween candies are Almond Joy and Twix, but, honestly, is there a bad candy? No little ones in our neighborhood now, so won't do Halloween--to the relief, no doubt, of the dog.

  10. Congrats, winners! Our stores (in Italy) are full of Halloween costumes, decorations, treats ... But there is no trick-or-treating tradition. I have never celebrated it, nether did my family or friends.

Oh Kim. You are totally forgiven for posting the winner late. A NOVEL SEDUCTION is worth it. :)

My MIL sent a large priority box of Halloween candy and it's staring at me. I made 3 dozen thumbprint cookies and put the pumpkin spice Hershey Kisses in the middle. Delicious!
