The new year brings new opportunities to discover authors new to you! Today I am participating in FOREVER's PS - I LOVE YOU with Rochelle Aler's SANCTUARY COVE and Sherrill Bodine's ALL I WANT IS YOU.
Let us discover SANCTUARY COVE:
Welcome to Cavanaugh Island – a brand new series in Grand Central’s/Forever line. Set off the South Carolina coast, it envelopes you in the comforting spirit of a small town where you will come to appreciate a slower, more relaxing way of life.

It is a place where residents cling to old traditions, while resisting the offers of developers and the promise of big box stores, retail chains and fast food restaurants. It is also where folks don’t lock their doors or cars until after the sun has set and where everyone knows everyone else and their business.

Cavanaugh Island is where you go to enjoy magnificent sunsets, inhale the mouthwatering aroma of Lowcountry home cooking, watch artisans weave sweet grass baskets and if you listen carefully, you will hear folks speak Gullah, a dialect that is a blend of English and African, and the gentle rattle of palmetto leaves in the breeze coming off the water.

Sanctuary Cove – January 2012 – a gentle romance that focuses on second chances, will introduce you to unforgettable characters that will make you laugh, cry, and long for a simpler time. Angels Landing – October 2012 will bring back characters you will know and come to love, while introducing you to a newcomer who falls in love with her new home and the grandson of a prominent inhabitant of the Cove.

So come and visit, sit a while or stay forever. The folks on the Cove, Landing and Creek are always looking for a newcomer to put down roots in a place with more than four hundred years of history and a unique culture that continues to thrive because of the dedicated preservation of sea-island culture along the Southeastern United States.
Mary Gramlich, the Reading Reviewer, posted her review of SANCTUARY COVE at this link. FOREVER is sponsoring today's giveaway of both books to one randomly selected commenter. To enter the giveaway,
1. Leave a comment about "relaxing way of life" - what relaxes you other than reading? Walking relaxes me!
2. FOREVER's giveaway is open to US residents only but I will giveaway a copy of Rochelle Alers' SANCTUARY COVE to one international reader.
3. Comments are open through Saturday, January 7, 10 pm in Hawaii. I'll post the winner on Sunday, January 8.

A walk in the forest where we stop and check out everything along the way. It is great during the spring when things are peaking out. I also like to walk along the shore.
ReplyDeleteeating chocolate and chatting on facebook make me relax beside reading ;)

Besides reading, a good way for me to relax is to lie in bed, turn on a movie and just chill out for a couple of hours. Of course, sometimes this will lead to a short nap and I'll have to rewind the movie to catch the part I missed, but it's a good way for me to just slow down. I have to completely disconnect from the computer to relax. Occasionally I'll even do some needlepoint while I have the movie on in the background, which is also relaxing too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway
Knitting helps me to relax!

Playing or resting with my 3 dogs and watching a nightly DVD or two with my husband helps me to relax.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this giveaway!
Petting my cats is very relaxing!
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, gardening relaxes me. Digging in all of the dirt and knowing I'll have a wonderful harvest; yeah, that'll do it every time.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the South Carolina Low Country!!!
I love to read to relax...but if reading isn't an option, I'll just stop, close my eyes and breathe. It does wonders. The world drops away :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 2012!!

Reading is the number one relaxer and I enjoy walking, too. Being with my husband is also relaxing for me - we just have such fun together!
ReplyDeleteWorking with my flowers and plants relaxes me. Just can't do as much as I use to. lol

Walking relaxes me as well. There are some beautiful walking paths & parks in my town. Even walking to attend to errands can be relaxing.
ReplyDeleteWalking, gardening, listening to music and reading all relax me.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures look very relaxing. Sleeping relaxes me especially since I'm such an insomniac. Maybe not the deep sleep but just closing my eyes and having music, or house sounds lulling me. Outside on an hammock under a breezy tree sounds relaxing too -if only I had one in my backyard.
ReplyDeleteWhat relaxes me other than reading would be to listen to music or watch some tv from a comfy spot on the couch.
