Aloha to Victoria Connelly and DREAMING OF MR. DARCY

I'd love to have the same fairy god mother as British author Victoria Connelly.  From her bio,

Victoria Connelly was brought up in Norfolk and studied English literature at Worcester University before becoming a teacher in North Yorkshire. After getting married in a medieval castle in the Yorkshire Dales, she moved to London where she lives with her artist husband and a mad springer spaniel. She has three novels published in Germany and the first, Flights of Angels, was made into a film. Victoria and her husband flew out to Berlin to see it being filmed and got to be extras in it. Her first novel in the UK, Molly's Millions, is a romantic comedy about a lottery winner who gives it all away.

Hmmm .... married in a medieval castle!  Being an extra in a movie based on your own book!   And a series set in the world of Austen addicts!  That series is:

A WEEKEND WITH MR. DARCY, from Sourcebooks at this link:

Surrounded by appalling exes and fawning students, the only thing keeping professor Katherine Roberts sane is Jane Austen and her personal secret love for racy Regency romance novels. She thinks the Jane Austen Addicts conference in the English countryside is the perfect opportunity to escape her chaotic life and finally relax...

DREAMING OF MR. DARCY, now available from Sourcebooks at this link:

Fledging illustrator and Darcy fanatic Kay Ashton settles in the seaside town of Lyme to finish her book, The Illustrated Darcy, when a film company arrives to make a new adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion. Kay is soon falling for the handsome bad boy actor playing Captain Wentworth, but it's the quiet screenwriter Adam Craig who has more in common with her beloved Mr. Darcy. Though still healing from a broken heart, Adam finds himself unexpectedly in love with Kay. But it will take more than good intentions to convince her that her real happy ending is with him.

MR. DARCY FOREVER, coming in April 2012 from Sourcebooks at this link:

Estranged sisters Sarah and Mia Castle have spent a lifetime fighting over the men in their lives. They finally begin to make amends at the annual Jane Austen Festival in Bath, England. During the festival, the sisters realize that they can't bear to be apart. They discover that their sisterhood forms a bond stronger than their mutual connection as Jane Austen addicts. And in true Jane Austen fashion, they each begin to lose their hearts to dashing gentlemen.

I enjoy Jane Austen's books and the BBC productions based on them.  I do not consider myself a die hard Austen fan but I am a die hard Anglophile.  For that reason, I enjoyed DREAMING OF MR. DARCY - it touched upon British culture that enchants me.   Check out my review of DREAMING OF MR. DARCY at this link.   I am giving away a print copy of DREAMING OF MR. DARCY to one randomly selected commenter.  To enter the giveaway,

1.  Leave a comment about a dream you would like to pursue - opening a B&B?  Illustrating your favorite area?  Falling in love with an Englishman?

Mine is to live in the UK after my last child graduates from college.

2.  This giveaway is open to all readers.

3.  Comments are open through Saturday, January 21, 10 pm in Hawaii.   I'll post the winner on Sunday, January 22.

  2. Aloha Kim! This is perfect timing, I just finished Austenland by Shannon Hale, so I'm ready to load up my TBR pile with more Austen-type books! Thank you so much for posting! Totally unrelated, but hubby and I dream of open a restaurant that serves a huge variety of soups and a luscious salad bar. I also dream of being a full-time writer. The two just don't match! Off to work. Thank you again;)

  9. Aloha! I'd love to travel to Great Britain without having anything planned. Other than I would start in London, rent car, and then just go wherever I end up. For someone who usually plans most everything to do with the trips we go on, this would be a fun dream to just see what happens.
