Aloha to Jenna McCormick and NO LIMITS

On this day in 1927, AT&T began trans-Atlantic telephone service between New York and London using radio transmission.  It cost of $75 for the first three minutes.

Today, $75 buys monthly cell service.  I wonder what $75 will buy in the future?

Fantasy author Jenna McCormick takes a peek into the future with her new release, NO LIMITS:

No Limits: Coming in January 1, 2012 from Kensington Aphrodisia

All Genevieve Luzon wants is to be loved by one man, a seemingly impossible task in New-New York City at the start of the twenty second century. Sure, she can buy sex as easily as order a pizza on a Friday night, but finding a forever kind of love among her self-centered peers is no easy feat for the unemployed off-world vacation coordinator. When an old friend offers her the position of secret shopper to test out the male prostitutes, Gen can’t think of a good reason to refuse. Hell, if she can’t find Mr. Right, she might as well try on a sampler of Mr. Right Nows.

Yet the perks of her new position don’t compare to the strange attraction she has, not for one of the prostitutes, but a candle that seems to warm places of her she never knew existed. When a man appears out of the flame, Gen is sure she's found the one. Rhys is an empath, made a slave by the Illustra Corporation and he’s everything Gen could ever want. Except available. Because Rhys is on a mission. One that might claim his life. He must try to free his people, consequences be damned. Now, Gen must choose between turning her back on the only man she’s ever loved and the monumental task he has set for himself. Should she risk her life fighting a war hidden from polite society against those who wish to control us all?

Is love really worth fighting for?

Leave no man behind ...

One line stood out, Because Rhys is on a mission. One that might claim his life.   Jenna writes from experience as she is the alter ego of Jennifer L. Hart - Navy spouse and author of several military themed books.   From Jenna's bio,

A little fantasy goes a long way....

Born on Sanibel Island somewhere between the fifth and seventh bottle of Rosa Regale, Jenna McCormick writes big girl romance with a touch of out of this world fantasy. Her hobbies include scouring the Internet for the perfect pair of boots and stirring up trouble, much to the dismay of her alter ego, mystery writer Jennifer L. Hart.

  1. Great blurb...sounds fascinating! I predict (and hope) that cellphone service will be clearer and not cause health hazards (and perhaps that means I will also finally get one in the future!).

  2. Hello Jenna! I think transportation technology will improve by leaps and bounds. Hopefully with monorails and other forms of mass transportation.

  5. The future is always exciting and a bit scary but when it comes to technology that is where I expect the most growth. I see wireless being a norm and available publicly in developed countries. Wireless TVs, microwaves and all. It's a bit scary imaging all the radioactive waves hovering about though.

  6. Technology for sure, but I wish they would stop messing around with bread. So many things are now added to it. I can see it will soon be off my shopping list.

  7. To me it could only be one think technology. I have seen so much new technology in my lifetime.

  8. I think that technology will slowly take over the world. We so depend on using technology that it sometimes is already scary.

  9. Thanks so so much for hosting me, Kim!

  10. I love the book featured today. For me, I think stores will become scarcer and scarcer. We will shop more online and I think transportation has to improve.

  11. Technology will be key in the future. Also I see much progress in space exploration. In the not too distant future, we will probably find out we are not alone. Maybe first contact with intelligent life will really happen.

  12. I agree that wireless will become even more prevalent. I also thing multimedia devices like the Smartphones, tablets and the like will continue to evolve, become more affordable and therefore more available to the masses.

  14. Aloha Kim & Jenna! I don't need to be in the book contest, since I already have No Limits nestled all safe and sound on my Kindle. :-)

I'm sure in the future the technology we already have will get cheaper, and I can't even imagine what awesome stuff the techies (which I'm totally not one of) will come up with.

  15. I think technology but I'm hoping for more advances in medicine and cures for cancer and such.

  16. I can't predict what might be new and improved in the future but I can only hope that medical science will find cures for some of the things out there like cancer, Aids and other illnesses.

  17. Most of it will be more than I can imagine. I have heard of traffic lights and signs actually built into the road and tv's and computers are on portable plastic sheets that can be put up or on anything. I do hope the biggest changes will be in health care. Maybe surgery will never require cutting into the body. Oh, there are so many possiblities.

  18. Better technology, cars, and I hope there be fewer diseases.

  19. I can envision further miniaturization and merging of all the electronic gadgetry we use today--cell phone, computer, GPS, radio communication, iPod, etc.--and some we may not have even have dreamed up yet--into one device that we'd wear like a watch.

Sort of like a Dick Tracy radio watch on steroids. :)

  21. This book sounds really interesting. An easy prediction is that we will see both cell phones and eReaders that are improved and changed in the coming years. I also think we will continue to see improvements in cars and I hope that this means improvements in fuel methods also. Thanks for the giveaway!

  22. I agree that technology will continue to lead the way with improvements and new 'toys'. I'd like to see improvements in food production (like hydroponics) so we can feed our growing population more efficiently and economically.

  23. How far in the future? I think biometrics will be increasingly prevalent--To authenticate on our computers; to charge/pay for things in stores; to get through the airport; to gain access to workplaces, etc. I'd love if there were big strides in transportation--something to alleviate traffic gridlock and the way we commute--especially in metro areas.

  27. This book is on my TBR list and has been since I first heard about it. It sounds so wonderful!

I hope the future brings us great advancements in cures in cancer, diabetes, heart disease and so many other diseases! I also hope that it brings us cleaner and longer lasting fuels, and technology that makes communication faster and clearer and cheaper!

Thank you for the giveaway chance!

  28. Well, technologoy will certainly change. It changes every minute right now it seems. I hope there will be advances in medicine. More recyclying.

  29. I think tech will improve but the question at least to me is will it be less expensive? Hopefully!

  30. im still waiting on the flying cars that was promised back inthe 70s :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I just hope I can still read all the ebooks I have. After all, I had to replace all my videocassettes with DVDs but I'd be really ticked off if I have to give up my books due to a technological "improvement".

    ReplyDelete
  32. I predict that computers will take over the world like in Terminator, either that or the flying cars that we were supposed to have by 2015.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Technology of any kind will definitely be improved in the future... but I think the more interesting question would be how fast that improvement can take place and actually our everyday lives.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Technology changes so quickly I am uncertain what I will be unable to live without in just a couple of years. Three years ago could not see needing access to the web from my phone and now I am lost if I have no signal in town.
