Continuing Forever's Romantic Suspense Blog Tour, let's meet Jami Alden! From her bio,
During my stint as the world's surliest receptionist, I took my first stab at writing. The result was a very melodramatic western historical which reads like a bad Elizabeth Lowell rip off. Its currently languishing on my hard drive, forever stuck on page 330.
Then in fall 2001 I had an incredible stroke of luck and got laid off from my marketing job. I decided it was time to stop saying I wanted to be a writer and to actually give it a serious go. Fortunately my husband, a socially well adjusted alpha male, is a very generous patron of the arts.
Four years later, I sold my first book and I'm pretty much living the dream of getting paid to write romance. When I'm not writing sexy romance, I enjoy running, reading, yoga and watching Food Network and bad reality TV.
Jami is celebrating the release of RUN FROM FEAR:
With each step she takes, he tracks her every move, waiting for the perfect time. The perfect revenge. Until then, he’ll watch her…
More than anything, Talia Vega wanted to leave behind her harrowing past. Moving 800 miles away, she succeeded . . . until the one man who knows her darkest secrets wanders into the restaurant where she works. Now the agonizing memories come crashing back—along with an undeniable desire for Jack Brooks, the ex-Green Beret who rescued her from a sadistic monster two years ago.
Jack Brooks knows that showing up unannounced is a purely selfish move. Talia doesn’t need his protection anymore, but he can’t get the raven-haired beauty out of his mind. And when a twisted madman is hell-bent on resurrecting her tortuous past, Jack vows to do anything to keep her safe--even risk his own life to save the only woman he’s ever loved.

I used to run before I had children ... and then I packed on a few pounds. Now I walk along the Pearl Harbor Channel for exercise and inspiration!

Congrats to Jami on the new release. My cousin likes to run on the Brooklyn Bridge, but it's not my favorite form of exercise. I like yoga and I would like to try Zumba.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a runner, but I could walk all day. It's relaxing even at a pace.
ReplyDeleteI am not much of a runner as I do not have the time ,but walking yes definitely fresh air and just walking for miles I am all for it!

Very nice review, ELF.
ReplyDeleteI cannot run anymore because I have osteoarthritis in my knee's. I ran a little back when I was younger but anytime lately.
Jamie is a new Author for me and I really liked the excerpt for Run From Fear.
ReplyDeleteI never ran because of bad back problems. But walking was much more comfortable at a fast pace and I love swimming. :)
Thanks Kim and Jamie for this opportunity.

Jamie's books are really good. I want to start with running this year, want to take my foster dog along with me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great review! These books look awesome, thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI loooooaaaathe running. Plus I'm short so I always feel like I have to run 2x as fast/long as a regular sized person (tried to run with a partner and that sucked!). But I really love to walk. I can walk with my dogs a couple of miles easy (ironically, they are the ones that usually get tired first and want to go home!)
I don't like to run and I couldn't anyway because I have problems with my knees. I do like to walk and I take a cardio class and a yoga class.
ReplyDeleteNope, I never liked to run. Hubby used to do it frequently. I used to like walking the dog. (We lost her last year and I'm not ready for a new one yet.)
ReplyDeleteWould like to run but somehow my knees and ankles don't appreciate it. I do like to power walk but don't do enough of it.
ReplyDeleteI would like to run, but it takes all I have to walk on my treadmill. Congrats on the new release, and thanks for the giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm horrible at running. I still remember being made fun of as a child. My one daughter runs like me lol. I like bowling and bocce. Neither is very strenuous lol.

Run from Fear sounds like a good mystery.
ReplyDeleteRunning, not my thing. Going to the gym and doing the
circuit is just fine with me. Limbers you up.
Jami I am a big fan of your books! After I found out last year that I am diabetic, I started an exercise regimen that includes running. I have since purchased a treadmill so no matter what the weather is like, I can run or walk daily...
ReplyDeleteBoth of these books look great and I am very eager to read them.
ReplyDeleteAs for running, so NOT my style! I actually can't run due to joint problems according to my orthopedic surgeon. I do like to walk (and generally walk fast) but since I messed up my back, it is harder at times.
I have asthma and every time I try running I have problems
ReplyDeleteI've never liked running. I like walking, cross country skiing, and swimming.
ReplyDeleteI don't like to run, but I like to walk.
ReplyDeleteNot a runner at all, but I do enjoy walking and do 2-3 miles 4 days a week.
ReplyDeleteJami's a new to me author and don't know why since I enjoy romantic suspense so much! On the TBR list now.
Jami...The world's surliest receptionist? I'm sure we've met...and met, and met! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI am NOT a runner. I'm a definite walker...and I do keep up a good pace, but I rarely break into a run.
I loathe running and always have. I blame it for all of my stretch marks on my chest from an unsupported bra when I ran track in high school. Never ran after that. I love yoga.
ReplyDeleteLoathe running I jog try to lol
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway thanks all
Kimh
Yeah Jami-congrats on the new release!!!
ReplyDeleteI so wish I could love or even like running-it is the one thing that really helps me lose weight but I am so bad at it :( I am once again trying to get thru the C25K (couch to 5k) program!!
Thanks for the chance to win!
Cheers,
Jena
ALoha Kim, i love running so much more than any sports and used to be a sprinter too, cheers aretha zhen
ReplyDeleteI love running. I was part of my school's track and field team. It's a great way to work your leg muscles. I have to admit I'm a bit rusty in the running department but you've reminded me that I need to do more running.
ReplyDeletehated to run, then i messed up my knee, and WANT to run, lol
ReplyDeletejami and dee are some of THE best writers !
blackroze37
I hate running. Ugh! lol But i do like to walk. Just enjoy a nice day and take in the scenery.
ReplyDeleteI have both of these books on my wish list and look forward to reading them.
ReplyDeleteDue to back problems I can no longer walk but in the past I did a lot of walking and for me that was like running since I walk fast. I walked at work with several other friends and I was the only short one (5ft) so to keep up with them I was almost running. lol I miss those days. I even use to walk during a light rain and it was rejuvenating. Loved the clean fresh smell without pollen.

I never could get into running. I much prefer to walk for exercise.
ReplyDeleteI love the feeling I have after I exercise. As for running, I don't really care to run, much prefer to walk.
ReplyDeleteI hate any form of exercise! I know I'm bad! I do take walks though and I try to eat healthy! Thanks for sharing today!
ReplyDeleteI ran until I was in my late 40's. Knees gave out, so had to give it up.
ReplyDeletei love running around my home ;)
ReplyDeleteI dislike exercise. Instead I play with my dog and take her for walks. It keeps me active.
