Jennifer is celebrating the release of Mythos Academy Book 3, DARK FROST:
I’ve seen so many freaky things since I started attending Mythos Academy last fall. I know I’m supposed to be a fearless warrior, but most of the time, I feel like I’m just waiting for the next Bad, Bad Thing to happen. Like someone trying to kill me — again.
Everyone at Mythos Academy knows me as Gwen Frost, the Gypsy girl who uses her psychometry magic to find lost objects — and who just may be dating Logan Quinn, the hottest guy in school. But I’m also the girl the Reapers of Chaos want dead in the worst way. The Reapers are the baddest of the bad, the people who murdered my mom. So why do they have it in for me? It turns out my mom hid a powerful artifact called the Helheim Dagger before she died. Now, the Reapers will do anything to get it back. They think I know where the dagger is hidden, but this is one thing I can’t use my magic to find. All I do know is that the Reapers are coming for me — and I’m in for the fight of my life.

When I was given the chance to review this book I frankly hesitated because while I loved the first book in the series, the second one seemed to be a watered down version. But now that I've read this one I'm glad I took the chance.
This book continues the story of Gypsy Gwen Frost and her friends at Mythos Academy. In this one you see Gwen and her friends as they continue to learn and grow and at times I had tears in my eyes. So much so that I had to go back and read the last couple of chapters since I had a hard time reading with the words being somewhat hazy looking.
Gwen and her friends start this book by helping to repel an attack by The Repears and even though they are eventually successful there are deaths among the students. But the question that appears is were they really successful? Gwen and her friends did survive and they are fast becoming known among the other students, but is that a good thing or not?
Being a teenager is hard enough, but to be a goddess's Champion raises the stakes even higher. Gwen has to contend with learning more about herself and what she's capable of doing and being as well as being a teen.
I'd highly recommend this book as it has a lot of action/adventure as well as angst that it should keep just about anyone happy reading it. It did me that's for sure!

I seem to do that a lot. Hide things away or put them away for safe keeping and then find them years later only to be surprised to find them. That happened this past christmas..I had put one of my christmas necklaces in the christmas box and forgot about it. I later thought it was missing, lost and was surprised to see it in the box when looking for christmas decorations. lol
ReplyDeletelol I'm a bit of a pack rat so it does happen every once in a while. It usually happens when I've kept something somewhere for ages and then move it and totally forget the new place and keep expecting to find it where it was originally. I do like finding money in winter coats the following year lol.
ReplyDeleteI just cleaned out our file cabinet and found some fun tourist brochures of places we have stayed, and some for places I'd like to go someday.
ReplyDeleteI put things away for safe keeping and find them months later. The latest being my husband's extra nebulizer, which I found in the attic.
ReplyDeleteI have found presents I have hidden. Then I give them away.
ReplyDeleteI have dust in hard to reach places.
ReplyDeleteI have found books that I forgot I had. That's always a nice surprise.
ReplyDeletei found souvenir from australia that i got from my boss when she was traveling to Australia 8 years ago :)
ReplyDeleteI've found so many things in the weirdest places! Let's see... I recently found a necklace in a hidden corner of my dresser!
ReplyDeleteI am always hidding things "to keep them safe". I often find Christmas presents, money, jewelry, and sometimes my keys. My husband often jokes that I hide things too good.
ReplyDeleteMel
I'm always searching for my car keys that are safely nestled in my handbag :) Always!

There's this one time when I hid a bag of candy from my little brother (Halloween candy) my parents told me to hide it so he wouldn't eat so much and to give him some once in a while...about a year and a half later, I was in kitchen cleaning when I found the bag of candy and ate some without knowing. My little brother comes home, I offer him some candy and he goes "EWW! aren't those my Halloween candy from a long time ago??? That's sick!" I didn't get sick or anything, the candy tasted just fine...lol Thanks for the giveaway! =) n_thao06@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteYes I do that a lot due to my absentmindedness lol I just found some fingerless gloves my mom wanted for Christmas a few years ago!!
ReplyDeleteI have favorite pens and they seem to pop up in the most random places!!!
