Aloha to Barbara Delinsky and Ebook Reissues - The First Fabulous Four!

Mary Gramlich, the Reading Reviewer, is a generous friend.  She has gifted me an ereader!   Mary wants me to enjoy her favorite authors' backlists, including Barbara Delinsky!   As Barbara wrote on Mary's blog yesterday,

I'm thrilled to be able to connect with you as these first four of my classic romances debut in ebook form. The books in this first batch were all published in the mid-1980s, and what a trip down memory lane it was for me rereading them now. THE FOREVER INSTINCT is the story of a woman caught between two men who are long-time rivals. FIRST THINGS FIRST is set in Cancun, where my husband and I took our first-ever without-kids vacation. STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART has the kind of medical dilemma that you'll find in many of my newer books. And THE SCENT OF JASMINE? Ahhhh, can you smell it? This one, by the way, was JASMINE SORCERY in its first life (just so you know it's not about demons, witches, or vampires).

These early romances are ideal for light and easy summer reading. There'll be another four coming at the end of June, and another four at the end of August. Me, I keep them on my e-reader for those times when I need a sweet little escape. May they offer you the same. Enjoy!

Let's join the fun and giveaway one ecopy from Barbara's backlist - winner's choice.  To enter the giveaway, leave a comment with your favorite place to read - bed?  bath?  beach?  This giveaway is open to all readers.  Comments are open through Saturday, June 23, 10 pm in Hawaii.  I'll post the winner on Sunday, June 24.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

  2. Hmmm...I don't take baths (love my shower!), I no longer live near the beach (and would be in the water the whole time if I did), so bed it is. I am also an author, and use reading at bedtime as my reward! Love all the covers and titles, Barb.

  7. I love to read at all three places you mentioned....bed, bath, and beach. I always read in bed at night. I don't think I'd be able to sleep if I didn't. I need that time to just relax and get lost in a story for a little while before turning out the lights.

  8. Hi Kim -

Congratulations on finally getting an e-reader! The first thing you'll notice is how easily it will fit in your purse (and how much lighter than carrying a "real" book around.

I didn't "discover" Barbara until after these books came out so I'm thrilled they're available for my Kindle. My daughter-in-law who is a nurse is going to love when I send her a e-book gift card so she'll be able to download Sraight from the Heart. She's been wanting for us both to be reading the same story at the same time so we can "discuss" what's going on with the characters (and maybe she'll be able to fill me in on your the the medical "jargon" as well.

As I've read Barbara over the years I love how with each new release she manages to make ever story fresh and new with that special slant that just tugs on your heartstrings.

  9. Thanks for a great post and giveaway!

I haven't had the pleasure of reading Barbara's books. I will definitely have to go take a look at her reissues!

I would love to read at the beach but since I live in the middle of the US, that's just a dream. So I love to read in my recliner, w/ a blanket on my lap and a puppy snuggled on top of it :)

  15. I'm not into e-books, but I do appreciate it when an author's entire backlist is still available because I've discovered several authors over the past few years who have dozens of books for me to discover!

  16. My bed is my absolute favorite place to read. It's comforable, quiet and just right. I find I can't read just about anywhere because I am easily distracted. If I'm outdoors I'm often wanting to play.
