A catless writer is almost inconceivable. It's a perverse taste, really, since it would be easier to write with a herd of buffalo in the room than even one cat; they make nests in the notes and bite the end of the pen and walk on the typewriter keys. ― Barbara Holland
Here is Zsa Zsa, a rescue cat who joined our family last year ...

Those kitty pictures are so very cute. I do like cats a lot. However, sadly, I'm allergic to them. It's a shame cause I think that a little kitty cat would be good company for me.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your cats dear. :-)
A subject dear to my heart lol! 20 yrs. ago I started my "collection" of cats because of a mama cat and 3 kittens that were eating popcorn that I left out for the birds. I have fed, fixed, found homes and cared for many since then - inside cats and outside cats. I've had 7 at one time but at the moment I have 5. One of my favorites was a kitten named Ollie - his mother left him on my doorstep one night after they were both covered in motor oil. I nursed him with a baby doll bottle and he grew to be the alpha cat who never backed down. I could go on and on but I won't lol.
ReplyDeleteI love cats! I've actually been trying to talk the BF into letting get one. He's strictly a dog person.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim -
ReplyDeleteHow can anyone live without a cat in the house? I loved the pictures of Zsa Zsa! Our bundle of joy is Charlie (aka Atilla the cat).
Now if you were wondering why we call him Atilla it's because he's an escape cat. When he was about 16 months old he figured out how to open the hard to open sliding glass door in our kitchen - in fact I have a problem opening it! Summer came and my husband put a hook on the screen door to keep him inside - nope, he jumped up on the counter, leaped up in the air and UNHOOKED THE LATCH, jumped back down and opened the screen door and strolled out without a care in the world.
One of the benefits are that all the neighbors feed Charlie so he'll come visit and scare off all the squirrels so their car engines to get full of acorns. Viola! We don't have to buy any car food for at least two months!
Now you can see why cats are so much fun - they keep you entertained and keep your neighbors happy too!
PS: They can even open the door for you when your trying to bring in groceries!
I love cats. At one point in time I had 11 cats. The have all passed of old age or cancer.
ReplyDeleteI have one cat now. A neighbor moved an left her with us(temporarily)---that was 2 years ago.
I know I'm in the minority (please don't hate me :), but I don't like cats. Frankly speaking I have nothing against them, I'm just not into pets.
ReplyDeleteI love my cats! They are my number one writing buddies!! Half the time I am working I have one asleep at my feet and one in my lap. My male, Mooshu especially loves editing days. Once I am done with papers I let him have a go at shredding them before I run them through the real shredder. He just loves to hear the crinkle and rip of papers!!
ReplyDeleteI love my cats!!! I have two and one is attached to me at the hip sometimes. My one cat sleeps with me and lays on my lap when I'm reading.
ReplyDeleteI love cats. My cousin had a one for a few years before her mother gave it away. We were so upset.
ReplyDeleteAs I am mostly a dog person, my favorite cats tend to be dog-like - they want to be a part of the human action and try to engage us on our level. With regular cats though, I have a tendency to run behavior modification experiments on them, whether they want to hang out with me or not (no cat was ever harmed physically or mentally in any experiment, maybe just their dignity and pride, and they still like me for whatever reason).
ReplyDeleteI don't have any pets at the moment since I'm allergic to most of them.
We have two cats and one of them loves to lay on top of laptops or on push your book out of the way when you're reading.
ReplyDeleteI love cats and I've noticed that most writers and a lot of readers love them, too! Right now I have two black cats that are brother and sister. I can't imagine not having cats in my home!
ReplyDeleteI like cats and dogs. As I was growing up, we always had pets in the family, and most of them were cats. Hubby doesn't care for cats, though. Now I have to get my "cat fix" when I visit relatives. Congrats on rescuing another one!
ReplyDeleteZsa Zsa is very cute. I love most all animals, including cats. Unfortunately I have developed an allergy to cats which makes me very sad. My dog loves cats and I'd love to get her one as a companion, but when I am around them, I get the classic allergy symptoms. That doesn't stop me though from petting my friends' cats.
ReplyDeleteI have one cat. She is a rescue. They are the best.
ReplyDeleteI love them but I am allergic to them. My arms get all red even if I pet them for like 1 minute!
ReplyDeleteLove! I used to think I was a dog person only, but then I helped rescue a momma cat and her six kittens and I fell in love. I now have three rescue cats that I can't imagine life without :)
ReplyDeleteKim, thanks so much for rescuing your cat and for posting photos of her. I LOVE cats. I lost my little sweetie of 14 years 14 months ago.
ReplyDeleteI love cats. I have rescued/adopted many, my big male Tuxedo cat will be 10 next month and is spoiled rotten. And I recently adopted another cat after my great grandmother passed away. Unfortunately, I am somewhat allergic to them so I am always congested, itchy, and often have to use my inhaler if they get anywhere near my face.
ReplyDeleteLove them. I have 2, one which was always mine and one I inherited. They are both rescues.
ReplyDeleteI love the independence of a cat. Such a superior animal in every way.
ReplyDeleteI adore cats and are adopting a new one. Can pick him up in a week and are SO looking forward to having a furry friend round the house again.
ReplyDeleteL Ike. Them ok
ReplyDeleteKimh

ReplyDeleteNot much of a cat person, but yours are sure cute!!
ReplyDeleteCats are adorable, but I am allergic to them. Therefore I am a dog person. Love my doggies.
