My children are away this week at Scout Camp near the North Shore. This gives me the opportunity to catch up on my reading and pack for RWA next week. Did you go to Scout camp? No I never went to camp with scouts or brownies, I did go for a weekend with a friend ( church group) I was a hit with the bigger kids light enough to lift over the fence so i could get there booze lol.

ReplyDeleteI never went to a Scout, Brownie or Girl Guides camp, but I went to a lot of school camps. It ALWAYS rained.
I never went to Scout camp. (I don't think I was in Scouting long enough.) Hope your kids have fun. Congrats to all the winners.

I did go to Girl Scout Camp when I was about 10, but I only went once as camping isn't really my thing.

ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners!! I used to go to camp for Deaf children growing up. I loved it!! My parents got 2 weeks of vacation without me. They loved it!! My boys are going to a 3 day camp for Scouts this week. I can't wait!

ReplyDeleteI went to a Girl Scout day camp instead of staying every night. It was close enough that we could take a bus back and forth.
No scout camp for me. But I did go to my 6th grade camp and to patrol camp (for all the kids who were in the school safety patrol). It was fun.

ReplyDeleteI went to Girl Scout camp when I was in Junior High and it was the best summer "vacation" I ever had! Usually my father took me every summer to his Hunting and Fishing club up in the Adirondacks (compete with out houses!) so camping came pretty easily to me. Both of my boys were Cub Scouts and then Boy Scouts through High School. My husband had been a Boy Scout and had taught them the "basics" from the time they were in grade school. We live in a quiet area and are surrounded by trees with a lake just a block away so they started swimming as toddlers. "Camping out" in a tent in our backyard was something they did from the time they were in Grade School but "Winter Camp-Outs" with their local Boy Scout troop was a whole new experience!
I can still remember our "camping song" from that one summer I was able to go to Girl Scout Camp and the wonderful friends I made and the lessons I learned all those years ago as a Girl Scout!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week! A week off from the kids. It is always nice to be able to miss them. I went to a bible camp every summer as a kid, it was on a lake and we got to play games all day, learn fun songs and grow. It was an amazing time, even more so when I was able to be a counselor. Summer fun =)

I went to Girl Scout Camp for several summers when I was a kid. I loved doing all of the crafts. I learned how to set up a camp and cook outside.
