I enjoyed chatting with Jennifer Haymore at the RWA National Conference - I tend to gravitate to those from Hawaii. From her Amazon bio,
As a child, Jennifer Haymore traveled the South Pacific with her family on their homebuilt sailboat. The months spent on the sometimes quiet, sometimes raging seas sparked her love of adventure and grand romance. Since then, she's earned degrees in computer science and education and held various jobs ranging from bookselling to teaching inner-city children to acting, but she's never stopped writing.
It comes as no surprise that Jennifer writes a "high seas" romance, PLEASURES OF A TEMPTED LADY - Book 3 in the Donovan Sisters series:
Captain William Langley knows the ocean well, but nothing could prepare him for what he discovers adrift on the cold Irish Sea. The tiny boat carries two passengers: a child—and Meg Donovan, Will’s long-lost love. Meg’s disappearance at sea eight years ago was a devastating blow. Now she’s back, as beautiful as ever, and with secrets as deep as Will’s own . . .
After years held captive by a cold-blooded pirate, Meg has finally escaped with little Jake, the boy she’s come to love as if he were her own. But the pirate wants his revenge—and Meg must do whatever it takes to shield Jake from the madman. Determined not to lose Meg again, Will vows to protect them both, yet Meg can’t risk putting the only man she’s ever loved in danger. With the threat to her safety growing, and her passion for Will burning brighter every day, surrendering herself to Will might be a pleasure too tempting to resist . . .
I posted my review of PLEASURES OF A TEMPTED LADY on Amazon at this link and Goodreads at this link. I am giving away a print copy of PLEASURES OF A TEMPTED LADY to one randomly selected commenter. To enter the giveaway,

I think I would prefer a large boat.
ReplyDeleteActually I've only been on a small boat. I did not know what to expect in all honesty. But once we started going down the river, it was actually a lot of fun. Even got to drive it.. LOL.

ReplyDeleteI sail one time in Lake Michigan and needless to say my stomach did not like it.
ReplyDeleteI like a large boat. Can be fun
ReplyDeleteI prefer a small sail boat... on very calm water! ;o)
ReplyDeleteI like my feet to be on dry land. I have a fear of drowning, and if the boat were to capsize then I wouldn't stand a chance.
ReplyDeleteI've been anxiously awaiting Meg's story, and would love, love, love to read this.
Big boat for sure... Feels like a lot of safer! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like another great book!
thanks for a great post!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to go on a cruise ship and I've been on smaller boats in a lake..... might be a different experience in the ocean though....
As long as I prepare ahead of time to not get seasick, then I like both big and small boats.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done any real sailing. I'd like to though; it looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteSmall boat on small water... then large boat on large water.. We've motored on the Thames... sailed on home lake... water skied in Canada and sailed on a major cruiseliner in the Carabeean..
ReplyDeleteI always like great food service and that was the cruiseliner!!
When I worked on Lake Erie during the summer months in college, I use to go out on a 26-foot sailboat all the time. I LOVED it! Now I pretty much just go on a cruise about once every 5 years.
ReplyDeleteI've never gone sailing! Can u believe? :/
ReplyDeleteI'd love to some day, tho.
I've been in motor boats but never a sail boat. I did go on a cruise once so I am going to pick a large ship - it was fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love to go fishing in a small boat at a lake that is close to home. When I was a teenager, my family was on vacation and we were on a large ship doing some deep sea fishing. That was a lot of fun.

DRY LAND
ReplyDeleteblackroze37@yahoo.com
Dry land! I really, really don't like water... Unless I'm drinking it ;-)
ReplyDeleteDry land for me! I get motion sick!
ReplyDeleteI really haven't been on many boats, but I'd love to go on more. Closest to what Jennifer sailed on was probably a couple catamaran snorkle cruises - had a great time.
ReplyDeleteDry land, please!
ReplyDeleteI love the big ships - really enjoy cruises. Have also been deep sea fishing and enjoyed that as well.
ReplyDeleteI have only been on small boats but I think I could love a big boat. I would love to go on a Cruise to someplace warm and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have only been on small boats such as pontoons and speed boats. If I was to go out into the ocean (a great distance from shore), I think I would definitely prefer a larger boat. :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a wonderful story.
Great review on on amazon Kim.
ReplyDeleteI love Jennifer Haymore thanks to you that is.
So getting this book.
DH had a friend who bought a sail boat we got to look after it for a summer, Best summer Ever every chance we got we went sailing or just spending time on the boat.
Have a good one Ann.
dry land
ReplyDeleteI haven't had much experience with boats or ships, but from what I have experienced, I don't have a preference, they're all fine. I'd love to be able to go boating or sail on a large ship, as long as I have a life vest to wear. Being way out in the ocean is a little daunting to me, it's not the boat/ship, it's all that open water.
ReplyDeleteI have been on a boat once in my life and turned positively green... so I prefer to stay on dry land. I do love the ocean and walking along it but I stay of the water.
ReplyDeleteI've been through both and it was perfectly fine. Just don't make me get aboard a small boat and cross a sea which we did once. I'm a bit paranoid that it might sink and my number one most feared animal lives in the sea. Sharks!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to go sailing. A tall ship would be very cool! The ocean calls to me. My mom says it's the Penn. Dutch in us. Have you ever been on one of those military family cruises, Kim? I haven't. But I would if I had the chance.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! Thanks so much for posting about PLEASURES OF A TEMPTED LADY, and I love your question! Do you know that's how we originally ended up in Hawaii? We were sailing in the South Pacific on my dad's 42-foot sailboat when everyone got poisoned by tainted fish on an island with no doctors or medicine. After spending a month trying to recover, we sailed to the closest point in the US--the island of Hawaii...and we stayed there!
ReplyDeleteNowadays I'm teaching my family to sail on a 33-foot Hunter sailboat here in California. We love it!
My husband has an eighteen foot sailboat that he made himself and I like to go out on it but I always wear my life vest which my family makes fun of.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim!
ReplyDeleteI love boats of all kinds. I grew up in up-state New York and since we had only "girls" in the family and I was the youngest my father, who was an avid fisherman, recruited be to be his "rower" when he made treks up to the Adirondacks to go fishing! I think this was when my love of reading started because every picture of us "fishing" actually show him fishing and me reading.
My husband was in the Navy during Vietnam serving on Aircraft carriers and when he was released joined the Navy Reserves. He never had a problem "sailing the seas" but put him a a ferry or a luxury liner and he gets sea-sick while I never have a problem!
We live on a lake and are just 2 miles from the ocean so I knew that extreme measures were needed. We finally discovered "wrist bands" so he can now safely get on a ship or boat smaller an an aircraft carrier with no problems!
dry land, small boat or a big boat it doesnt matter to me. i love a whole.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer a large ship like a cruise or something as that would mean that I am on vacation!
