Aloha to Grace Burrowes and LADY LOUISA'S CHRISTMAS KNIGHT

Lady Louisa's Christmas Knight

One the third day of October, the book fairy gave to me ... Grace Burrowes's LADY LOUISA'S CHRISTMAS KNIGHT:

No one would ever guess that Lady Louisa, the most reserved of the Duke of Moreland's daughters, had published a book of racy poems under a pseudonym on a dare. Before she can buy and destroy all of the copies, a dastardly fortune hunter seeks to compromise her reputation by revealing her secret identity at a holiday ball.

Before she can be publicly ruined, close family friend Sir Joseph Carrington saves the day by offering to marry Louisa. As he recites poetry to her, waltzes with her by starlight, and showers her with lovely kisses, they both begin to discover that their match may be the best Christmas gift either has ever received.

  1. I try to shop year round, but mostly end up scrambling at the last minute.

  2. I used to LOVE starting my Christmas shopping in the summer. Sadly, the youngest member of our family is the 27 yr. old drill Sergeant! Harder to buy for, as are his brothers, but we try to find something useful as well as enjoyable...cash, too. Hubby? He is easy. Underwear and socks! (They are always on his wish list)

  3. We don't buy each other a lot of gifts so I don't start out too early in the year. Some time around summer I'll inquire if there is anhything they would like and then I'll see how it goes. I do try to avoid the crowds on the last minute but there is plenty of time to get something nice for everyone.

  4. I shop all year round. I take full advantage of sales. Often when I am not even looking I will find the perfect gift for someone. I actually have a 'gift' cupboard at home where I store my buys.

  5. I start shopping around the end of summer.....the only problem is I forget where I put the items and then go nuts trying to find them.

  6. I usually shop weeks before I'm giving them. I make a list though before buying them and search around where I can buy them in lower prices.

  7. I always resolve to shop year round but usually wind up last minute.

  8. Every year, right after Christmas, I think that I should and WILL shop all year round. However, I always end up buying all my gifts the month before!

  10. I start Christmas shopping in September. It used to be so easy when the kids were younger (my kids and grandkids). Now, it's much harder. I try to give physical gifts, along with money for the kids.

I love Christmas, it's my favorite time of year.

  11. I can already feel the Christmas season creeping up on me and it'll be here before I know it! As much as I want to be a year round Christmas shopper, I'm more of a last minute. It depends on the person too. Since this post comes a few months before Christmas it might give me a chance to turn this around!!

  12. I shop all year around. If I don't buy them as x'mas gifts, I save them for bday gifts or other gifts...

  13. I start seriously thinking about it in October but I rarely start shopping before the beginning of December. I tend to overbuy if I shop too early.

  14. I don't shop at all---we don't exchange gifts.

  15. Every year me and my BF say we are going to start shopping early and yet somehow we are always in a mad rush to get gifts together by Christmas Eve.

  16. Love Grace's books--I finished Lady Maggie's Scandal earlier today.

As for Christmas shopping, I am almost done. I've never liked last-minute shopping,

  17. I try to shop year round. If I see the perfect gift for someone, I have to pick it up. If I wait 'til Christmas, I'll never find it again.

  18. Unfortunately I often wait until almost the last minute. But I've gotten a little bit better the past few years.

  19. I shop all year long. I take advantage of sales and, this year, I picked up some things while I was traveling. The 'gift list' has gotten a lot shorter through the years. My only problem is that I sometimes put the gifts in safe places and then have to search for them....

  20. Hi Kim!

You picked the perfect author to pick for a special treat today! Everyone likes a nice Christmas story but Grace "gifts" you with a story not to be missed and Lady Louisa's Christmas Knight is the perfect story to get everyone in the holliday spirit!

Since our boys were born the one thing we always bought first of their gifts we always bought were books! My older son actually taught himself the letters of the alphabet when he was 3 and started reading from the encylopedia when he was five. It was a riot because of all the words he didn't know! For some reason he had a fascination at that young age with George Washington and we couldn't keep from going back and picking out the book with a W and pulling it from the bookcase shelf!

Fortunately for us all five of our grandchildren love reading as well so it's gone a long way to make buying gifts easier. My husband also have the best time going through the shelves in our home and picking out "old" favorite of our sons and sending them all wrapped up to their sons and daughters.

The best thing is that you don't have to worry about sizes and colors! A book always "fits" perfectly!

  21. I'm more an almost to the last minute shopper - I don't have much shopping to do and most of it is either online gifts sent out of state or gift certificates, so it doesn't take long to do. :D

  24. I do enjoy Grace Burrough's books. Years and years ago I would shop through the year. It made sense and made it so much easier with 7 kids. Now though they are married with their own families it actually depends on the finances. :)

  25. Now that we're all adults, we quit giving gifts but rather donate to local food banks, etc. But we still exchange some small stocking stuffers - that we find year round...

  30. Everyone in my family are older now so I usually do gift cards. I would rather them buy something they really want than to end up with something they don't want or need. I used to be one of those last minute shoppers rushing around that last week before like a mad woman. I'm an easy buy for everyone in my family. Books or gift cards to Amazon.

Lady Louisa's Christmas Knight sounds to be another good read. Thank you for the chance at it. :)

  31. thanks for a great post! Ummm... I'm a last minute shopper, mainly cuz it takes me so long to figure out what to buy!

  32. This sounds like a very romantic story!
I usually pick up a few gifts through out the year, when it's something very special & there's no question of having to return it. So far this year I've got two gifts and ideas for several more.

  33. Well, I get very excited when I buy presents for others and want to give them to people, so the longer I wait to purchase them, the better. I usually start shopping in November. :)

  34. I wait until fall to shop, altho if I see something the other times of year, I'll get it.
