On the second day of October, the book fairy gave to me ... Sara Rosett's MISTLETOE, MERRIMENT, AND MURDER:
Super organizer Ellie Avery could really use some Christmas cheer when Gabrielle Matheson, a grinchy professional rival, sets up shop in the same small Georgia town. But before the halls are even halfway decked with holly, someone uses Ellie’s terrifically tasteless white elephant swap gift as a murder weapon.
Ellie’s now a suspect. Besides playing Mrs. Santa for her Air Force pilot husband and their two kids, shielding her eyes from the garishly over-decorated house down the street, and helping a client who’s a hardcore hoarder, Ellie also has to solve this ho-ho-homicide and find a killer who’s trying to wish her a very deadly Christmas.
Don’t miss Ellie Avery’s great tips on how to have a relaxed and stress-free holiday season!

I am giving away a Hawaiian holiday ornament to one randomly selected commenter. To enter the giveaway,
1. Leave a comment about your favorite holiday ornament!
2. This giveaway is open to all readers.
3. Comments are open through Saturday, October 6, 10 pm in Hawaii. I'll post the winner on Sunday, October 7.
Mahalo,
Kim in Hawaii

I have Christmas Tree ornaments that my children made at pre-school & school many, many years ago. They are very precious & have pride of place on the tree.
ReplyDeleteI think that my fav christmas decoration is a Scottish bagpipe ornament made of fabric. It's got a gold tassel and the famous red tartan fabric. I got it as a present, sadly I've never been to Scotland myself. But this way I have a tiny bit of the fab country on my tree :D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament is a Victorian Girl and Boy ornament that the first year of my marriage.
ReplyDeleteI had to pack up my favorite ornaments which my children made in preschool and 1st grade because most of the glued on parts came off. Now my fav is a beautiful angel tree topper my daughter gave me one Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great book and set in GA so I am adding to my wish list.

I am fond of the snowman ornaments that we have for our tree.
ReplyDeleteChristmas Lanterns specially the one's made by my mom. Actually my mom is a Superwoman since she can do a lot of things. :D
ReplyDeleteIt's a Hello Kitty one for me. My daughter and I both love it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is one that my deceased Mother-in-Law made for me, many years ago. It's a little wooden sled with miniature holly and berries on it.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have been collecting ornaments for 42+ years and I don't know how I could possibly pick one. I have ones home made from my children and given to me by them too, I have 3 that were my mom's and more that were my husband's and his mother's (alas I have lost some because they are so delicate and I had my tree fall twice one years arghhhh), and when on vacation we pick a favorite or from an event we attended, or given by friends and family. Oh, it is just the best part of Christmas - we have a tree trimming party and everyone joins in and I take the tree down myself and remember so many wonderful memories.
ReplyDeleteI have a few wooden ones from my childhood and a couple of Precious Moments ornaments that I like.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament is a blown glass hummingbird.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday ornament is a small Star Trek Shuttle Craft that when you press the button you can hear spock say, "Live Long and Prosper" I'm such a Trekkie.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very difficult question to answer. Certainly any of the ornaments my daughter made for me over the years. And then I have a collection of Thomas Kinkade ornaments. I could go on....
ReplyDeleteI have so many wonderful Christmas ornaments. My tree is over-decorated every year and half of the available ornaments never make it to the tree. So, there's lots of competition here!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is one of the dozen wooden ornaments my Dad carved and painted for me many years ago--an LSU Golden Band drummer. It's my favorite because he made it and he loved LSU as much as I do. Dad's gone now, but his Christmas ornaments are one of the many ways I remember him.
We have a little pickle that we put on the tree and everyone wants to find it first on Christmas morning.
ReplyDeleteThe Angel on the tree
ReplyDeletei love christmas tree and i love star :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the baby's first Christmas baby bottle ornament that a friend gave me for my daughters first Christmas in 1989. Hollie was 3 1/2 months old...It always reminds me of that very special Christmas (Hollie was the best gift I ever received - truly a blessing).
