I loved the book and it just made me want to see Wicked so much. I finally got a chance last year and really enjoyed it. I listen to the soundtrack for it all of the time. So good.

I haven't seen the play or read the series, but I do have the book Wicked on my TBR shelf and I'm hoping it to read it at some point. My favorite character from the Wizard of Oz is Dorothy, she has a lot of courage to face all the challenges she goes through during her adventure.

ReplyDeleteMovie only and the Tin Man is my fav!
ReplyDeleteWow, not many Wicked readers. I read it, and enjoyed the different take on the Wizard of Oz. There are always two sides to every story right? It was a little strange in some parts...but then again it is the Wizard of Oz =)
ReplyDeleteI've read The Wizard of Oz (but not Wicked) and seen the movie many times. My favorite character is the Scarecrow.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim!
ReplyDeleteI was wasn't born yet when The Wizard of Oz was released in the movie theaters in 1939 but I did finally get to see it in the 1950's on our brand new black and white TV!
I know that most people's favorite character was Judy Garland as Dorothy but my favorites were the Scarecrow played by Ray Bolger and Toto the dog! I think I identified with the Scarecrow because I was shy at the time! Of course my husband can't believe that I was ever shy because today I speak to EVERYONE! Just ask the peoole in the grocery line with me!
It's hard to believe that this wonderful story was written in 1900 by L. Frank Baum. It does prove that great books are written in every century and all we have to do is to open our minds and believe.
My Mom and I saw the musical. It was awesome! I just picked up the book so hoping it's just as good :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I haven't seen the musical yet :/ I started reading it, but never finished. I guess I have to do it in the near future. But I have a fave character and it is Toto =)
