1. Did you know about Susan McBride's memoir IN THE PINK? Oh, the title is appropriate for today ... and for women readers:
Susan McBride, author of The Cougar Club and Little Black Dress, opens her heart in this irresistible memoir about how she got married, got pregnant, and beat breast cancer—all after her 40th birthday. By turns deliciously funny and utterly poignant, In the Pink is definitely Susan's story . . . but her experiences are parts of every woman's journey.
I know Mary Gramlich, the Reading Reviewer, is a big fan of Susan, so I am giving this book to her for Christmas. To learn more about Susan and her books, including links to purchase, check out her website at susanmcbride.com.

The convention is scheduled for May 1 - 5, 2013, in Kansas City. I am not attending as I am a "geographic single parent" with two children in school. Yet these workshops (and more) make it tempting!

Let's giveaway a book choice from my convention stash - would you rather wear the toilet paper wedding dress or taste haggis? Comments open through Saturday, November 10, 10 pm in Hawaii. I'll post the winner on Sunday, November 11 - Veteran's Day.
Mahalo,
Kim in Hawaii

I would rather wear a toilet paper dress than eat haggis. I know I have eaten some weird stuff, but the idea of haggis makes my stomach turn.
ReplyDeleteI'll bite - the haggis lol.
ReplyDeleteEhh.. Though I am not adventuresome on trying new food HOWEVER I would not want a dress that would tear so easily. So I think I would try the haggis. Growing up I had to eat things I didn't like. Though I was an oddball. I hate most veggies and picky but I loved liver (minus the onions)
ReplyDeleteI taste haggis when I was in Scotland... It wasn't THAT bad. :)
ReplyDeleteI actually kind of like those toilet paper wedding dress- at least in the commercials... As long as you can over the fact that it's made by toilet paper. The dress designs aren't that bad! I wouldn't wear it of course but if the material is different... I wouldn't mind!
I guess I would choose the dress as well. The thought of having that does make me sick.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim! I love Susan Mc Bride
ReplyDeleteI've eaten Haggis before and it's not bad! Tastes like a spicy sausage.
ReplyDeleteI would give haggis a try.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't like sausage (or hot dogs or anything else of that nature) so I guess I would choose the dress, lol.
ReplyDeleteI would totally wear a toilet paper wedding dress! Isn't haggis made of some animal's intestines? GROSS!! Pass the TP please!
ReplyDeleteA toilet dress ,great pics
ReplyDeleteKimh
I would have to go with the toilet paper dress. I don't think I could ever try haggis.
ReplyDeleteJune
I'm a vegetarian, so I go for the dress made out of toiletpaper.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh. I'd go for the toilet paper wedding dress every time. I have a good idea of what is in Haggis.
ReplyDeletei'd go for toilet paper wedding dress
ReplyDeleteyak! I'd go with the toilet paper wedding dress!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog thank you
penney
I'm a vegetarian so I will also go with the toilet paper wedding dress.
ReplyDeleteI'll go with the toilet paper wedding dress.
ReplyDeleteTaste Haggis :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, my mum made us eat animal hearts, liver, kidneys and other stuff. Therefore, I'm open to trying haggis. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm from Louisiana, so you know I'll eat anything once! Slide over that plate of haggis.
ReplyDeleteI think tasting haggis would be a bigger adventure, so bring on the haggis.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very adventurous when it comes to food, so I think I'd skip the haggis and go for the toilet paper wedding dress. :D
ReplyDeleteSince I'm a vegetarian the questions is moot...
ReplyDeleteI reckon dressing up in toilet paper dress for a lark would be quite amusing & for a swag bag from Avon I wouldn't mind at all!
*will do anything for romance books* :D
Oh, I would definitely love to do The Taste Of Scotland thing and taste Haggis. I wish I had the funds for I would be there with bells on! :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe one day a dream of mine will come true and I can taste the real deal in Scotland itself.
The paper toilet dress for me! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI would like to try haggis. When it comes to food I like trying new things :)
ReplyDeleteI think I would rather wear the toilet paper wedding dress...
ReplyDeleteCan't say either choice is appealing, but I think I'll try the haggis.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather try haggis. Sounds less painful! Lol!
