News Flash - Social Media, Veterans Day, and Water Changes Everything

I am seeking readers' feedback about social media at this link. And here's my social media:

Twitter @sosaloha at this link.

Facebook - New page for SOS Aloha Book Blog at this link.

Facebook - SOS Aloha at this link.

Travel blog - ALOHA ON MY MIND at this link.

Julia Quinn is hosting her second annual Veterans Day Giveaway for veterans and military spouses. 100 randomly selected entrants win a Julia Quinn novel of choice. For more details, including the link to enter, check out her website at this link.

Mahalo, Julia, for caring about our veterans!

You, too, can salute veterans! Operation Paperback enables readers to donate gently used books for deployed soldiers. Operation Paperback also supports VA hospitals. In fact, one hospital in the midwest has appealed for flipflops, toiletries, and books for their patients as "they have no family." I've started a collection at my son's school.  If you would like to help, check out Operation Paperback's website at this link.

I am coordinating Operation Holiday Card for military personnel separated from their family in Korea. My husband is currently away in Korea and he will deliver the cards. For more information, contact me at sos.aloha@yahoo.com.

Limecello is hosting her third annual Social Media for Social Good - Water changes everything at this link.  Even comments help as others are donating $$ per comment.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

A Hawaiian Blessing for Limecello:

'Ike aku, 'ike mai, kokua aku kokua mai;
pela iho la ka nohana 'ohana.

Recognize others, be recognized,
help others, be helped;
such is a family relationship.

  6. I cannot name the times my DH told me how much it meant to the other soldiers when I would send extras to him when he was in Germany and Kuwait. So many have no other family than their military family. I love the idea of sending the books. I'm going to be looking into this.
