The Hawaiian phrase of the day is
'ohana nui.
It is large family.
Grace Burrowes created an 'ohana nui in her Windham Series.
LADY EVE'S INDISCRETION, Book 7, will be available from Sourcebooks Casablanca on Tuesday, February 5, 2013:
Lady Eve's Got The Perfect Plan
Pretty, petite Evie Windham has been more indiscreet than her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Moreland, suspect. Fearing that a wedding night would reveal her past, she's running out of excuses to dodge adoring swains. Lucas Denning, the newly titled Marquis of Deene, has reason of his own for avoiding marriage. So Evie and Deene strike a deal, each agreeing to be the other's decoy. At this rate, matrimony could be avoided indefinitely...until the two are caught in a steamy kiss that no one was supposed to see.

I am giving away a print copy of LADY EVE'S INDISCRETION to one randomly selected commenter. To enter the giveaway,
1. Leave a comment about the size of your family - small, medium, or large? We're a medium family with two parents, two kids, and four cats (one per lap).
2. This giveaway is open to all readers.
3. Comments are open through Saturday, February 12, 10 pm in Hawaii.

Large family here. My parents, 8 siblings, 5 boys and 3 girls, 2 male cats and a bunch of chickens. :D
ReplyDeleteWe had a large family whole kids were growing up. Seven kids, mom and dad. Now that 6 of them have their own families it's just my youngest daughter and me. Grace's Windham series is just so enjoyable. Thanks for the opportunity.

I have a small family: 2 parents , 1 sister and 2 cats :D
ReplyDeleteI come from a large family. My parents had nine children. My oldest brother was 25 when my youngest brother was born. At the time of his birth my mother was the oldest woman (48) on record to deliver a live birth at that particular hospital. He was not only "live" but healthy and perfectly 'normal'. I am so happy to have been born into and grown up in a large family.
ReplyDeleteI have a small family - just my husband and me and our two cats. I have two sisters, their husbands, 2 nephews, 1 niece and one great niece.
ReplyDeleteI have a small family, just my parents, my grandma and I.
ReplyDeleteWe are medium with my husband and our two children and just two cats.
ReplyDeleteSmall, very small... just hubby & I..
ReplyDeletelarge family : mom, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 4 nieces and 3 nephews
ReplyDeleteI would say we are a medium family with three kids.
ReplyDeleteSmall... we have 2 kids only... but it seems like a handful at times!
ReplyDeleteI have three brothers and two sisters. So I came from a big family but I only have two kids of my own. Were a small happy family.
ReplyDeleteIt's just my hubby & I at home, and I have two adult step-kids. I have 3 sisters and one brother, and I'm at around 30 nieces/nephews if you count the "great" nieces and nephews. So, that makes my extended family huge!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe started as a medium-size family, down to small...unless everyone visits at the same time, then we balloon to large! I love Grace's books and can't wait for this one!
ReplyDeleteWe are a family of two, Not by Choice.
ReplyDeleteLove Grace Read The Heir don't know why I have not read any others, I will have to change that very soon.
Have a good one Ann/alba
Small family - me, hubby, and adult daughter. Two cats with only one being social.
ReplyDeletesmall. We both come from a family of only 2 kids and we have no kids right now... just a small herd of dogs ;)
ReplyDeleteWe are a small family. There is my husband, me, and our 3 dogs (kids).
ReplyDeletepretty small and spread across the country.
ReplyDeleteWe're a small family.
ReplyDeleteSmall nuclear family but the extended family is thriving all over the world. Thank goodness for e-mail.
ReplyDeleteI love Grace's books! I have one sister (who has 8 grandkids) and 2 daughters and my husband is an only child. My mom has a sister and brother and my dad was an only child. I have 5 cats at the moment. I would say we are medium lol.
ReplyDeleteI come from a large family. My parents are both gone, but I'm one of seven. I've got four sisters, and two brothers. My brother Peter is the eldest, with five girls in between, then my brother Richard is the youngest. In fact, he was an Uncle before he was born. My sister, my Mum, and I were all pregnant at the same time. Val had her boy, then Mum had Richard 6 weeks later, and I had my daughter 6 months later.
ReplyDeleteI came from parents who were both from large families (8 and 12 children), the family I grew up in was medium with four children. My own family was small, after my son was about six, it was just me and him. Now that he's grown and left home, it's just me so I'd call my current family mini. I did have three cats at one time, now I'm down to none, so I think I'm going to be adding to the family soon with a couple of kitties. :D
ReplyDeleteI don't think of us as a large family, but I guess we are bordering on big. There are two parents, four kids and four dogs. Yikes put it that way it sound big, lol
ReplyDeleteMedium size with both parents, 2 brothers and a sister. However, the sister didn't come until I was 19.
ReplyDeletemedium sized
ReplyDeleteMine is a medium family. My parents & us 3 kids.
ReplyDeleteLove Grace Burrowes' Windham series. I've every one of them & can't wait to read LADY EVE'S INDISCRETION
I'm one of 7 children, so that's big, but then I have only the two children & that's smallish.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I come from a med family with two parents and four kids. But I have a large family, two parents and 9 kids plus the one daughter and her family lived with us and I took care of the 3 grandkids so we have a 'ohana nui family.
ReplyDeleteZ
I come from a large family I am number 4 out of 5 kids and the youngest girl... 7 people in a one bathroom farm house during my teen years was horrible lol as my Brother took the longest.
ReplyDeleteBut in My family there is 4... Hubby, Me, Davey(9) and JonJon(3) plus our two dogs Zelda and Eddie and our Turtle Mr. Turtle so technically 7...I consider we are a regular sized family.
I grew up in an average-sized family, with Mom, Dad and 2 kids. Same for the family I've created with my husband, though my kids are grown and gone now (with children of their own). Numbers and types of pets have varied through the years; right now, I have one cat.
ReplyDeleteLove Grace's books and look forward to Eve's story.
Hi Kim!
ReplyDeleteI love Grace's books and am so excited that Lady Eves Indiscretion will be released on the 5th! I love The Duke's Daughters series and was so excited when I found out that she has another book in the series called Lady Eve's Indiscretion that will be the next book in the series but I don't know when it will be released.
In fact last December I started my "celebration" of Christmas by re-reading the first and third book in the series - Lady Sophia's Christmas List and Lady Louisa's Christmas Knight. I hope you've had the chance to read both of them! No one can write a better book for the holidays than Grace.
I love Valentine's Day and my husband and I always laugh on our Anniversary and ask ourselves why we picked February 7th to be married instead of the 14th! This year we'll be celebrating our 43rd Anniversary.
When we first got married he bought me a new trash can and since then he's tried to "out do" himself every year! One of my favorite moments every year is opening my "gift" to find out what he's come up with and I can just imagine what he's planning for our 50th!
My family growing up was 2 parents & 3 kids (I have an older sis & a younger brother). But I had LOTS of aunts, uncles, cousins (my dad's parents had 11 children, mom's had 7). I am single but I am the proud aunt of 2 nieces & 1 nephew from my sister and 2 nephews from my brother. Then of course there are all the fur babies :)
