Now that I'm older, I can appreciate the sense of community that a small town has. Fictional small towns I love are Thunder Point (Robyn Carr), Lucky Harbor (Jill Shalvis), Eternity Springs (Emily March), and Cavanaugh Island (Rochelle Alers). I know there are a few more, but the memory went blank!Karen Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01879661976460705463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8575273532904617281.post-75387996629063519452014-08-28T14:20:46.882-04:002014-08-28T14:20:46.882-04:00One of my favorite small towns is Jill's Lucky...One of my favorite small towns is Jill's Lucky Harbor.Rosanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8575273532904617281.post-32402239003496796732014-08-28T00:31:35.568-04:002014-08-28T00:31:35.568-04:00One of my favorite small towns is Julian, CA...up ...One of my favorite small towns is Julian, CA...up in our local mountains. Sometimes it was tough because everyone knew everyone else's business and they would tell on you if you did something wrong. My parents always knew when I took a wrong step or said a cuss word out loud. I couldn't get away with anything! But it was a fantastic place to raise kids, I knew that when I had my own two children. Being in a city has multiple challenges for kids and the risk of danger is greater because there are more strangers than there are friends or relatives. Anyway, the town where I grew up is NOT my favorite because it was in the middle a desert and it was so darned hot all the time. But I did have a liking for small towns after my children were born because of the aforementioned reasons. My fave small town to visit now is Santa Cruz, CA. It has such a laid-back style and personality to it, plus the ocean and street vendors and musicians and wonderful coastal weather. I lived there once for four years and have always wanted to move back, but it's too expensive to live there anymore...so I just visit whenever I can. Thanks for the interesting question. jdh2690@gmail.comJan Houglandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00253192243976154166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8575273532904617281.post-78129127106130485932014-08-26T11:25:20.261-04:002014-08-26T11:25:20.261-04:00call me nostalgic but I've always had a soft s...call me nostalgic but I've always had a soft spot for Mayberry :) Not from a small town and wouldn't want to move, but I do enjoy reading about them.
