Aloha to Lora Leigh's RAW


Last weekend, I drove over to Hagerstown for Lora Leigh's Reader Appreciation Weekend (RAW).   Attending authors included (link),

The dancing continued on Saturday at the Cowboy Stampede.

      Love that song! In fact, I love all the songs from the "Vision Quest" soundtrack. It is a quintessential movie from the 80s!

      The DJ only played on Madonna song (before I left at 11 pm) - INTO THE GROOVE from the "Desperately Seeking Susan" soundtrack.

      That's a great song from the 80s. Perhaps my second favorite song from the album after BEAT IT.

    Hi Kim!

    It sounds like you had so much fun at Lora Leigh's Reader Appreciation Weekend!

    I loved your question and when you mentioned the 1980's it took me back to running the boys around to baseball, swimming and soccer practices. By the time we got home it was a rush to make dinner but when my husband got home he'd always put my favorite country western songs on so I could at least sing while I was busy cooking!

    The one song he always played first was Brown Eyed Girl by The Good Brothers and get me laughing and more relaxed by him trying to sing along! Yes, I have brown eyes and I think he loved the song more than I did (my favorite artist was Willie Nelson) but it was his way of telling me how much he loved and appreciated me. Once in a while he stills plays that song and we look back at those times when our sons were still at home. In fact the last time we drove to see our grandchildren the first thing he played in the car was Brown Eyed Girl!

    I have so many songs from the 80's that I love, and still enjoy listening too. Here's just a few. " Endless Love" by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie , I Want To Know What Love Is" by Foreigner, and "The Power Of Love", Jennifer Rushs' version. I could go on and on, but had better stop here. I loved the 80's!!

    Lucky you going to Lora's RAW. I love her books. Phew!!!

    Just wanted to stop by and say how much fun RAW 2013 was and how great it was to see you!! Looking forward to more fun next year! The DJ this year was fantastic, playing so wonderful hits of the late 70s and 80s!! Had a blast with all the readers and authors!

    Wow...the 80's was my music era....too hard to pick one favorite song. Loved Madonna's "Crazy For You" Heart's "What About Love", Bon Jovi songs, The Smiths, The Cure, oh and how about "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran, Duran.....could go on and on.

    Oh, so hard to pick just on 80's song....I love 80's Metal. Pretty much anything by Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Ozzy, Guns & Roses, Warrent, and my favorites METALLICA makes me happy :)

    For some reason I do not remember much of the '80's (probably senility!!). I remember the songs mentioned and like quite a few of them, but couldn't name one as my favorite. Sounds like you had a great time at RAW. You must be tickled to be stateside and able to attend these functions again.

    The 80's were my favorite decade for popular music (especially Heavy Metal). Right off hand, the song that comes to mind is Van Halen's "Love Walks In."

    Anything by Duran Duran! My friend Christine and I swore we would go see them again if all the original band members got together again. They did and we went. They were as good in 2005 as they were in 1985.
