Reminder - I have a special giveaway for August at this link.
The Washington Romance Writers (WRW) are hosting their annual Reader Luncheon (link) on Saturday, October 8, 2016. I look forward to meeting Harper Kincaid:
Born in California and raised in South Florida, Harper Kincaid has moved around like a gypsy with a bounty on her head ever since. Along the way, she has worked as a community organizer, an art teacher, a popular blogger, and a crisis counselor (to name a few). All the while, longing to have the guts and follow-through to do what she really wanted: to write and become a published author. That wish has finally come true and she's tickled hot pink.
When not writing, she adores listening to indie, lo-fi, complaint rock played on vinyl, the theater, well-informed optimism, happy endings (both kinds), and making those close to her laugh 'til they snort. She is a self-admitted change junkie, loving new experiences and places, but have now happily settled in the cutest lil' town, Vienna, Virginia.
Learn more about Harper at harperkincaidromance.com.
I am giving away a book choice from my convention stash to one randomly selected commenter. To enter the giveaway,
1. Leave a comment about art teachers - do you remember any of yours? I remember the art teacher at Pershing Hill Elementary School on Fort Meade where my children attended. She was full of enthusiasm for all forms of art, including fashion. Alas, she is friendly with the family of Christian Siriano - winner of Project Runway's fourth season.
2. Comments are open through Saturday, August 20, 10 pm in Baltimore.
3. I'll post the winner on Sunday, August 21.

I don't remember his name, but my college art teacher sort of threw up his hands at my total lack of ability. He felt my ability was just below that of a first grader. Sadly, Hewasn't far from wrong.
ReplyDeleteI have never taken art as a subject. Good thing too. I have zero talent in that direction.
ReplyDeleteNever had one
ReplyDeleteI had a most interesting art teacher in 9th grade, Miss Beradino. She had us make a copy of our bedrooms in shoeboxes and we had to make a project using garbage (now called recycling). She also rode a bicycle to work. I still see her in the neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteI suck at art so I never took any classes
ReplyDeleteYes mostly all of them, the nice ones and the mean ones lol

ReplyDeleteOh, yes. I loved art. I was chosen to take some special classes at a Carnegie-Mellon University but my parents said no, a very big disappointment. But I remember all my youngest daughter's art teachers too and she did go into that field :)
ReplyDeleteI never took art but I do remember my daughter's Art teacher. So incredibly talented.

ReplyDeleteIt's been a very long time, but I remember one from Junior High - she had all sorts of things for us to try - clay pottery, charcoal, tiles ... just encouraged us to try things.
ReplyDeleteThat was a long time ago, so no. LOL.
