As I drove onto Fort Meade yesterday, I spotted a handmade sign by the gate:
Fear the Goat!

I wonder who Laura Kaye will root for ... she taught at the Naval Academy but writes about Army heroes in her new series, Hard Ink. She is celebrating the release of Book 1, HARD AS IT GETS:
Tall, dark, and lethal...
Trouble just walked into Nicholas Rixey's tattoo parlor. Becca Merritt is warm, sexy, wholesome--pure temptation to a very jaded Nick. He's left his military life behind to become co-owner of Hard Ink Tattoo, but Becca is his ex-commander's daughter. Loyalty won't let him turn her away. Lust has plenty to do with it too.
With her brother presumed kidnapped, Becca needs Nick. She just wasn't expecting to want him so much. As their investigation turns into all-out war with an organized crime ring, only Nick can protect her. And only Becca can heal the scars no one else sees.
Desire is the easy part. Love is as hard as it gets. Good thing Nick is always up for a challenge...

I am giving away a print copy of HARD AS IT GETS to one randomly selected commenter. To enter the giveaway,
1. Leave a comment about football - love it or loathe it?
I'm not a big fan, but I caught the shocking end of the Alabama-Auburn game. As Alabama attempted to kick a field goal for the win, Auburn caught the no-good-kick in the end zone and ran it back for a touchdown. That is football!
2. This giveaway is open to all readers.
3. Comments are open through Saturday, December 14, 10 pm in Baltimore. I'll post the winner on Sunday, December 15.

I enjoy football, but love romance books with football athletes more! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove your question! It is a dilemma for me, isn't it? :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSEC Football is the best! Roll Tide Roll and Hotty Toddy, y'all!
ReplyDeleteI don't follow football but I'll sit and watch with friends and family. Sometimes it's just an excuse to get together for the spouses who don't follow. Like me
ReplyDeleteI love your Hickam picture. I'm from Hawaii and that's my brother in law's base :D
I don't loathe it, but I don't understand it. When I tried to ask questions during a game early in my marriage I was given the evil eye so I stopped asking. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'd love to read Hard as it Gets!

not really a fan
ReplyDeleteNot a big fan at all. I watch it only when my husband does...
ReplyDeleteGO ARMY!! BEAT NAVY!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big college football fan, but only live games. Hubby and I have had season tickets to the University of South Florida's football program, since its inception in 1997 (so it's a baby program in big, bad FL).
I used to watch NFL games, but I can take 'em or leave 'em, now. I do adore MLB and Soccer.

I do watch football, but I'm a much bigger hockey and baseball fan.
ReplyDeleteI'll watch it, but for the most part I would rather read a book than watch a football game. I do like watching them when it is snowing....makes it more interesting for me. Though, I would not want to be one of the fans sitting in the snowy stadium.
ReplyDeleteIts ok, I dont fully understand it or know the rules.
ReplyDeleteI love it I love sports thanks , hot cover
ReplyDeleteKimh
I'm not a fan at all.
ReplyDeleteHe was coaching high school football when I married him.. love it.
ReplyDeleteMy parents moved our family to South Florida just as the Miami Dolphins were gaining national attention. How exciting to watch as South Florida became a big 'football town'! Even more exciting was the streak of super bowl trips! And the 1972, undefeated season was unbelievable! What a wonderful time to live in South Florida!!
ReplyDeleteLove football. Been a fan all my life. GO NAVY. Gotta go for Navy cause I'm a Navy veteran.
ReplyDeleteLove my Chicago Bears! Win or lose I'm a fan!
ReplyDeleteI just watch the big games.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and son really enjoy it but I am not so interested.
ReplyDeleteEh... I'm indifferent. I won't go out of my way to watch a game but if it's on (which it usually is), I can watch. I live in a college football obsessed state, so you have to learn a bit about it to get by, but I'm pretty good at faking it :)
ReplyDeleteO. M. G. I'm a huge fan of Laura Kaye. I've read a couple of her books and they were so good.
ReplyDeleteAs for football, not a fan.
I am a huge football fan, probably more so than my husband. I love college and pro and even arena football!
ReplyDeleteI dislike football. I've never understood how a player can get so much money just for throwing or kicking a ball about. The same goes for all those other sports players too. Our military, who put their lives on the line every day, should be on par with the same wage levels as these "stars". (I use that term loosely).
ReplyDeleteI avoid it when I can.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy it. And that game was unbelievable. The Steelers tried something similar in the last play of the game and his foot was out by a smidgen and we lost boohoo. Steelers are out of it for the second year, unfortunately. And, Kym, Baltimore is one of our big rivals lol.
ReplyDeleteI usually only watch football if I make a connection to a team - I've been following the Ravens since my niece moved to Baltimore & started following them
ReplyDeleteDon't like it, but will watch when hubby is watching Ole Miss, that's the only time. Thanks for the giveaway, I've had this one on the radar for awhile now.

I like to watch the Kansas City Chiefs, KU, and K State, but that is all. I much prefer reading books about athletic heroes and watching KU basketball.
ReplyDeleteI'm rather indifferent, actually. Which makes it fun to pick on my football-crazed family ;-)
