Happy 68th Birthday, United States Air Force!

Breaking news!  Check out my guest post on USA Today's HEA blog to celebrate this special birthday at this link.

Off we go into the wild blue yonder,
Climbing high into the sun
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder
At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun!
Down we dive, spouting our flame from under
Off with one helluva roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey! Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

Today the US Air Force celebrates its 68th Air Force!  It is my distinct pleasure to feature the airmen, er, women from the RomVets, "military women who have turned the sword to the pen."

  1. Some of my favorite authors are listed here!!!

  2. I have read PC Cast, Delores Fossen, Elle James, Merline Lovelace, Pam McCutcheon, and maybe a few more. Do I know any Air Force family members? My husband is retired Air Force, so yes, I do. Quiet a few.

  3. I have read a book from only one of these authors. So I'm going to have another look at this list :)

  4. PC Cast, Christa McHugh, Diana Duvall. My respect for them has just jumped upwards!

  5. Such an impressive list. I have read Elle James. I do not know anyone in the Air Force.

  6. Im not sure so many names. Not sure if I do or not. no none in any of my family

  7. Larissa Lone and Ella James are 2 authors I've read and I'm very proud of my brother in law who is now retired from the Air Force!

  8. I've read a few but I'll definitely be checking out the rest!

  9. I've read some but there's a lot that I haven't read as yet. My fil was in the Air Force and worked at this base.

  10. I read Larissa Lone but had no idea about her background before this. My co-worker's husband works in the air force so she moves around a lot. But we live in Canada so not connected to the US airforce.

  11. Happy Birthday!!!! Yes, I have read several of the authors listed above.

  12. Happy Birthday USAF! I have read books by PC Cast and Larissa Ione.

  13. I have read Larissa Ione and Elle James however I didn't know this info on either of them. I have an uncle that is retired from the Air Force.

  14. What a lovely tribute! Yes, I've read several of the listed authors. As for family members, I had an uncle who served in the Air Force during WWII.

  15. I have several PC Cast books and a couple of Merline Lovelace.

  16. Happy Birthday USAF! My father-in-law served as an enlisted man in the Air Force - he retired when his kids were close to graduating from high school rather than take another posting across the country and disrupt the kids HS experience. :-)

I've read several of these authors and have a few more on either my wish list or TBR.

  17. Happy 68th Birthday to the USAF. My husband proudly served in the USAF for 24 years. I've read a couple of the authors books listed above.

  18. I've read a number of these authors - Cindy Dees, Dolores Fossen, Susan Grant, Larissa Ione, Elle James, Merline Lovelace. I don't know anyone who has served/is serving in the Air Force.

  19. Happy Birthday USAF! I don't know anyone in the Air Force. Will need to check out the authors on this great list.
