The best part of RT is spending time with favorite authors! I invited a group of historical authors to lunch to exchange information about the Historical Romance Retreat (link). Elizabeth Hoyt, Elizabeth Essex, and reader Anna attended last year ... and Anna Harrington, Janna MacGregor, Cathy Maxwell, Kate Pearce and reader Tamara are attending this year. Rounding out our table was my partner in crime, Kim Rocha, and Author RX founder, Mel Jolly. A lady never discusses the secrets she hears ...
Enter a Kaleidoscopic swirl of color and light at Avon's annual party at the RT Booklovers Convention, where special photo stations will be set up for readers to take pictures with their favorite Avon and William Morrow authors. There will be plenty of complimentary books and eBooks for attendees, as well as sweet reading surprises! As always, sweets will be served, and readers can raise a toast to romance as they mix and mingle at this prismatic Friday night party.
Appearing(s): Ilona Andrews, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Lenora Bell, Viola Carr, HelenKay Dimon, Megan Frampton, Alison Gaylin, Shelley Shepard Gray, Lorraine Heath, Beverly Jenkins, Laura Kaye, Cathy Maxwell, Charis Michaels, Julia Quinn, Alisha Rai, Lia Riley, and Karin Slaughter.
I had just enough time to change for the RT Awards ceremony cohosted by actress-turned-author Meg Tilly and former Mr Romance Mark Johnson. Meg was wonderful - she truly loves romance books! I sat next to Lenora Bell who had not eaten ... so I shared my grapes. I cheered for Lenora, HelenKay Dimon, Lorraine Heath, Cathy Maxwell, and many more.
For this week of recaps, I am giving away a sampling of books and swag from RT. To enter the giveaway,

I love roses...not so much the florist kind, though. I love the gloriously fragrant ones we grow at home. My favorites are Angel Face (lavender) and Mr. Lincoln (deep red.)
ReplyDeleteI love them all too but frangipani are a great favourite. Love the smell of them too.
ReplyDeleteway too many to have a fave.

ReplyDeleteI'm not a big flower person but if I had to pick one it would be a yellow rose.
ReplyDeleteI really like Bleeding HEarts but not in a bouquet
ReplyDeleteI love the beauty of all flowers but to pick one I'll say Peony's. Sounds like you had a great time.

I love the smell of orange blossoms and honeysuckle. I don't think there are any flowers that aren't beautiful - even the ones called weeds.
ReplyDeleteWe bought a one owner house, while most everything was contractor grade, the yard has been amazing with shrubs & plantings!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I like all flowers, but my favorite is probably a lilac or peony.
ReplyDeleteI love all kinds of flowers too - my favorites depend on the occasion - Gardenia's & Lily of the Valley remind me of my Mom; Iris remind me of my Dad, Tulips & Daffodils in spring; and I love it when the lilacs bloom.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful authors and events you got to see. Roses are my favorite flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love carnations! They look & smell so pretty and have a long shelf life!
ReplyDeleteI adore all flowers, but have a special affinity for irises.
ReplyDeleteI love tulips, daisy, many that I don't even know what they are....
ReplyDeleteI love all flowers. I have planted some of my favorites and blooming time is upon us. Daffodils and tulips, then Japanese irises, bearded irises, peonies, lilies of the valley, columbine, clematis, and roses are all now in bloom. The crepe myrtle trees are getting ready to bud out. I have gladiolas, mums, dahlias, bee balm, viola, coming up. I will be adding more bulbs and annuals this summer.
ReplyDeleteRoses are my favorite.
