Aloha to Jill Shalvis' MERRY AND BRIGHT

16033664

This coming weekend, my youngest son is camping with his Boy Scout Troop at Gettysburg.   They will participate in an illumination to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address.  Perhaps I'll follow up with a visit to a neighboring Civil War battlefield - Antietam.  Perhaps we'll visit Antietam, and nearby Boonsboro, on December 7 when Nora Roberts' bookstore, Turn the Page, will host a very merry book signing (link) with:

Nora Roberts / J. D. Robb,Christi Barth, Susan Donovan, Donna Kauffman, Kimberly Kincaid,Sarah Morgan, Jill Shalvis plus local authors Zeke Changuris and Marie and Maxine Beck.

So many authors to choose from ... and I'll feature a few of those authors in the coming days!   Today I spotlight Jill Shalvis. From her bio (link),

New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis lives in a small town in the Sierras with her family and far too many assorted quirky characters. Any resemblance to the quirky characters in her books is, um, mostly coincidental. Look for Jill's latest, RUMOR HAS IT, on shelves and ereaders now, and get all her bestselling, award-winning books wherever romances are sold. Also, visit her website for a complete book list and daily blog detailing her city-girl-living-in-the-mountains adventures.

I am giving away a print copy of MERRY AND BRIGHT, a special anthology with three sexy stories to welcome the coming holiday season:

Brilliant chemist Maggie Bell has a knack for choosing Mr. Wrong, and with yet another lonely Christmas looming, she decides it's time to alter the equation - and seek out someone who seems totally wrong for her. Eureka! The heart is a genius...Behind on her bills, B&B owner Hope receives an unlikely guest - stranded solicitor Danny, who has been threatening to put her out of business. Funny how the holidays can bring people together no matter how much they resist...Born rebel or overgrown man child, Matt is the kind of man no woman can tame--until an unexpected encounter with his nemesis, Cami, at the office holiday party proves there is an exception to every rule.

  1. hard to be merry when forces seem to work against you. I always hate this time of year because the cold seriously depresses me. Before it was a song or what not...

  18. Christmas decorations make things bright. Grandkids make me merry.

Kim, definitely visit Antietam. Hubby and I have visited many Civil War battlefields: Antietam is the best. Gettysburg is good; but as it's a three-day battle, it's more difficult to get your arms around things. Best time to visit Antietam is the fall, when the cornfield is high and you can imagine what the battlefield was really like.
