This week ushered in many new releases, including Kristen Callihan's EVERNIGHT, Book 8 in her Darkest London series:
Once the night comes . . .
Will Thorne is living a nightmare, his sanity slowly being drained away by a force he can't control. His talents have made him the perfect assassin for hire. But as he loses his grip on reality, there is no calming him—until he finds his next target: the mysterious Holly Evernight.
Love must cast aside the shadows . . .
Holly cannot fathom who would put a contract on her life, yet the moment she touches Will, the connection between them is elemental, undeniable—and she's the only one who can tame his bouts of madness. But other assassins are coming for Holly. Will must transform from killer to protector and find the man who wants Holly dead . . . or his only chance for redemption will be lost.
Kristen Callihan is an author because there is nothing else she’d rather do. She is a three-time RITA nominee, and winner of two RT Reviewer’s Choice awards. Her novels have garnered starred reviews from Publisher’s Weekly and the Library Journal, as well as being awarded top picks by many reviewers. Her debut book FIRELIGHT received RT Magazine’s Seal of Excellence, was named a best book of the year by Library Journal, best book of Spring 2012 by Publisher’s Weekly, and was named the best romance book of 2012 by ALA RUSA. When she is not writing, she is reading.

I don't really know anything about London except that is where the Palace is.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to visit London for the history and the buildings. I like Regency historical romances so I'd love to see some of the places mentioned in them, like Hyde Park, the Thames, Buckingham Palace, the cathedrals, etc.

I have read the first few books of this series and have 2 more on my shelf to read. Love the cover of Evernight...had not seen it yet. I am learning LOTS about London because we are traveling there next week! That is, if the volcano in Iceland doesn't blow its top and cause airplane chaos. One thing I have learned is that the month of September they are having their River Festival with lots of fun events. Looking forward to going to a few of them.
ReplyDeleteNot a lot of details other than some of the more famous buildings. I would love to visit one day though.

Hi Kim! I just had to pop in and say what an eye-catcher Evernight was for me this morning in the inbox! Evernight is also the name of my publisher. Think I'm gonna have to definitely pick this one up. If not just for the keepsake, but because the cover is gorgeous and the blurb sounds just right. Wishing you a wonderful day and Mahalo! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL... I don't really know much about London other than what the HR I read tells me. Don't think that a lot of that translates to modern times now :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI spent a full week in London, seeing all the sights and staying in bed & breakfasts during the Summer of 1986. We didn't even rent a car but used the Underground all the time. It was absolute heaven! This series of Kristen's is fascinating because of the historical aspect of a beloved city with the addition of intrigue, danger and romance. This combination provides for riveting reading and excitement. So glad she has a new book out in this series. Thanks for the post, Kim! jdh2690@gmail.com
