Aloha to Sharon Sala and COLOR ME BAD

Color Me Bad: A Novella

On this day in 1846, Elizabeth Barrett eloped with Robert Browning.   No doubt their elopement  set tongues a wagging during afternoon tea.   Gossip has migrated from tea salons to hair salons such as The Curl Up and Dye - the setting for Sharon Sala's new novella, COLOR ME BAD:

An original short story by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Sharon Sala links to her full-length contemporary women's fiction novel, The Curl Up and Dye.

The novella centers around the four women who run the Curl Up and Dye hair salon and their relationships with the quirky customers of small-town Blessings, Georgia. Their meddlesome efforts at match-making run awry, but there's always another makeover just around the corner.

Reviewers are raving about COLOR ME BAD ... creating anticipation for Sharon's full length novel to kick of the series, THE CURL UP AND DYE, coming February 2014:

Wally Lamb meets Steel Magnolias in this story of LilyAnn Bronte, the Peachy-Keen Queen, which in Blessings, Georgia, was the epitome of success. After losing her fiancé in the war in Iraq, her zest for life went into decline while added weight crept on. When a new guy arrives in town, LilyAnn embarks on a quest to remake herself from start to finish only to discover that love was always just right next-door.

  2. I enjoy getting my hair done at my local salon. Unfortunately, my hair never comes out the same when I do it! I'm looking forward to reading Sharon's new novella and book. I love love everything she writes!

  3. I think they are kind of fun. I'm not in them for long because there really isn't much that can be done with my fine, straight hair, but still, the atmosphere in them is nice.

  4. I just want to in & out quickly at the Beauty Salon. I don't love, but I don't loathe either.

  5. My hair has been long for my entire life. I've only gone to a beauty shop a few times for a trim. I actually trimmed my hair a few months ago myself because I kept sitting on the end of it and pulled my head backwards. lol

  8. I love them but I rarely go there because the wait is so long and it's always so $$$$.

  9. I used to have a fantastic Italian Hairdresser named Mauricio (not sure of how to spell his name now), when I lived in England. He would tell me that I had hair the color of "honey champagne" in his lovely accent. He would blow dry my hair into lovely flicked back curls (typical 80's hair), and it would in stay for days. LOL

I don't go to hairdressers here, as I know somebody who comes to my house and cuts my hair.

  10. I used to enjoy it. Until my stylist of 7 years got married and moved across the country. It took me a year to find someone who could color and cut my hair where I wouldn't start crying the minute I looked in the mirror!

  11. I get my hair cut when it needs it--every six weeks or so. Other than that, I really don't hang out in salons.
