4th Anniversary of SOS Aloha

Monday, March 3, is the fourth anniversary of SOS Aloha!   The purpose of the blog - celebrate romance books and promote military families - began at the 2007 RT Booklovers' Convention in Houston.  It was my second convention and I became the Master of Ceremony at the SOS Military Mixer.

The following year, Fabio and Steely McBeam  joined us in Pittsburgh for the SOS Military Mixer.   2009 was a banner year - my husband sang the National Anthem at the SOS Military Mixer.  No sooner did we return to Baltimore that we received news we were moving to Hawaii!   I wasn't sure how this long distance thing would work ... and that's when Mary Gramlich, THE READING REVIEWER (link), suggested I set up a blog.

I tried to register www.sosamerica.blogspot.com ... but it was not available.  So I registered www.sosaloha.blogspot.com ... and the Aloha Spirit was born in Romanceland!

Terri from BODICE RIPPER NOVELS (link) taught me how to create hyperlinks and add pictures ... leading to my second blog, ALOHA ON MY MIND (link), where I posted pictures from our travels around Hawaii, Korea, and China.

We are back in Baltimore and I am thankful for the many friends I made during this journey.   I appreciate your support of SOS Aloha, romance books, and military families!

In honor of my fourth anniversary, I have sent four boxes to deployed personnel.   There will be plenty of books and bling, dear readers, when I return from the 31st annual RT Booklovers' Convention in New Orleans (link).

  12. Happy Anniversary! I found your blog when I searched for bloggers with military ties. As an army mom, you were a good fit. You have moved to Baltimore, and my Drill Sgt son has left the service after 10 years, but I still look forward to every one of your posts. Mahalo!
