Spring Fling with Kensington - Pamela Christie's DEATH AMONG THE RUINS

18051973

Spring gets us out of the house to enjoy nature's beauty .... so let's join Arabella Beaumont on a trip to Italy in DEATH AMONG THE RUINS, Book 2 in the Arabella Beaumont Mystery series ...

In the second in Pamela Christie's witty, deliciously unconventional Regency mystery series, Arabella Beaumont--courtesan and sleuth--discovers that the pursuit of art can be a dangerous thing. . .

London's aristocrats pay handsomely for the company of courtesan Arabella Beaumont. Arabella, in turn, wisely invests her earnings in an art collection that will endure long after her legendary charms have faded. It's a decided blow, then, when her antiquities dealer is murdered before he can procure an item for which she paid dearly--a rare and provocative statue of Pan. Undaunted, Arabella decides to travel to Italy and locate the treasure herself.

What begins as a delightful caprice soon takes on a sinister aspect. Arabella's quest appears to have made her a donna fatale, causing death and mayhem wherever she goes. A thing of beauty may be a joy forever, but Arabella's own life could be cut scandalously short unless she can locate the statue, and uncover the heart of an ever-deepening mystery. . .

The incomparable Coliseum ....

  7. I feel the same way as catslady. My daughter and her family visited many places there and enjoyed everything. Sicily was beautiful. She loved being in the same area that all her great grandparents came from.

  8. What to I love about Italy? Everything I can read and see photos of and see travel TV shows about...because, you see, I haven't been there and so badly want to go there to see everything in person! I want to see the ancient Roman ruins, I want to see the lovely Tuscany countryside, I want to see Naples where Cary Grant and Sophia Loren took me years ago...I even want to see Sicily where so many of our Italian mob movies started. I'll probably never get to go, but I can dream, can't I? So I'm "in love" with the idea of Italy, the food, the music, the people, the land, the history. Sigh . . . jdh2690@gmail.com
