To the shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land, and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marine.

From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in every clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In the snow of far-off Northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes,
You will find us always on the job
The United States Marines.

240 years is a long time. I'm quite sure I have favorites, but titles escape me right now.

I might but not sure. Way too many to remember faves
ReplyDeleteI recently read and loved Beth Andrews' A Marine For Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI work with a retired marine who still carries the marine mentality. As he says, once a marine always a marine. He left the corps as a gunnery Sargeant. Such a great guy to work with. My favorite books featuring marine heroes are the Rescue Me Saga by Kallypso Masters. She writes amazing stories and makes her characters feel so real. Also for a short time her first two books are free!
ReplyDeleteOff the top of my head, I can't think of any marines - the ones I always remember are the SEALS lol I'm sure I've read and enjoyed some!
ReplyDeleteI don't know any Marines but I have read quite a few books with Marine heroes :)
ReplyDeleteI have some acquaintances who are Marines. I can't remember the books I've read with Marine heroes, however, NICS (and Leroy Jethro Gibbs) is my favorite TV show.
