RWA Recap/Day 3 - Post office run, Private Eye Lunch, and Avon "Boathouse" Party

I started Wednesday with a run to the post office.  As you can imagine, a NYC post office is a glimpse into humanity ... office runners dropping off buckets of mail, desperate travelers applying for passports, tourists seeking postcard stamps, and book fanatics send boxes via media mail!

CiCi is ready for any adventure around the world!

Mary and I lunched with private eye-turned-true crime author Clarissa "Ci Ci" McNair.   We enjoyed listening to tales from a life well traveled:

Clarissa McNair is a published novelist and true crime write, and an enthusiastic traveler.  She has lived in Italy, Cyprus, England, Switzerland, Portugal, and Canada.  Her travels include a year in Africa, trips all over Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and the Middle East. 



Back in the hotel, we stopped by the Goody Room and chatted with Kieran Kramer and KT Grant/Katie Babs (check out her RWA recaps at this link.)

    Looks like you had a great time Kim! I would love to visit Bali...It's a place I've always been drawn to because of the name and then after seeing it in the movie "Eat Pray Love" - it went further up the list of places I have to visit...it's on my bucket list:)

    I really want to visit Egypt one day. Besides visiting the archaeological sites, it would be great to sail down the Nile.

    I would love to visit Ireland. I have read so many great books with Ireland as the setting and would love to go and sightsee all the great pubs, castles, and towns I have read about.

    Great pics, now it is time to wind down and relax after the convention..lol

    Lovely pictures, I recognize some of my favourite authors in there.

    Exotic places I would love to visit is New Zealand or Switzerland or Scotland. Hopefully someday isn't too far away.

    Personally, I like exotic but not too exotic (hot and cold running water is a must!) so Vanuatu maybe.

    I know they are'nt too exotic but for a small town girl who has not traveled outside her own state much, I would love to visit Australia or Scotland. Thanks for sharing a great post today!

    I would love to visit Morocco. The food, spices, fabrics & tea are all fabulous. I think I would enjoy a holiday there immensly.
