The Best Cheer - Shout Out in Books

23014649

Earlier this week, I had a successful trip to Washington DC (link).  The next day, not so much.  I showed up at a facility that was not hosting a new hire fair that week.  Arg ... I combated DC traffic for nought!

Later in the afternoon, I walked to the bank, tripped over a displaced sidewalk, and scrapped up my knee.  I hobbled home and cracked open Diane Kelly's LAYING DOWN THE PAW, Book 3 in the Paw Enforcement series.  I enjoyed the first two books in the series, PAW ENFORCEMENT (link) and PAW AND ORDER (link).

I often read the acknowledgement page - I am always curious who inspired the author. Yet I landed on the "praise" page with reviewer's quotes:

Funny and acerbic, the perfect read for lovers of Janet Evanovich. - Librarian and Reviewer

Humor, romance, and surprising LOL moments. What more can you ask for? - Romance and Beyond

Fabulously fun and funny! - Book Babe

An Engaging read that I could not put down.  I look froward to the next adventure of Megan and Brigit! - SOS Aloha on PAW ENFORCEMENT

Sparkling with surprises. Just like a tequila sunrise.  You never know which way is up or out! - Romance Junkies on PAW AND ORDER.

Wait a minute ... SOS Aloha is me!  Thank you Diane Kelly and St. Martin's Press for including my reviewer quote!

This is the first time my blog name has appeared in a book.  My personal name has appeared several times.  In 2007, I won a character's name from Bobbi Smith at the RT Booklovers' Convention in Houston.  I am a school marm in WANTED! THE HALF BREED. My college friends thought I should have been the saloon wench ... they know me well!

In 2013, Anne Elizabeth thanked me, along with other volunteers, for supporting military families in ONCE A SEAL.

In 2014, Cathy Maxwell dedicated THE BRIDE SAYS MAYBE to me,

For my friend Kim Adams Lowe, I am wealthy in my friends.

I am also rich in friends - fellow readers and authors. I am giving away a book choice from my convention stash. To enter the giveaway,

1. Leave a comment about a secondary character you could play in a book.

For Diane Kelly's Paw Enforcement series, I could be the Police Chief's administrative assistant, petting Brigit every time she comes into the office!

2. Comments are open through Saturday, April 23, 10 pm in Baltimore.

3. I'll post the winner on Sunday, April 24.

Mahalo,

I bet Brigit would enjoy Dog Beach in Pearl Harbor.
