Celebrate Little Victories - Djibouti goodies, Avon books, and Downton Abbey costume exhibit

This week yielded many treats ...

I received a care package from my friend in Djibouti, Africa. My kids will enjoy the ball caps and I will enjoy the jewelry!

Avon Romance sent holiday gifts to the Avon Addicts!

My mother and I visited the Downton Abbey Costume Exhibit at the Winterthur Museum at this link.

Do you have a little victory to celebrate?  One randomly selected commenter wins a book choice from my convention stash.  Comments are open through Saturday, January 3, 10 pm in Baltimore.  I'll post the winner on Sunday, January 4.

  1. My victory is that we all got through Christmas Day without anything going wrong. Dinner was absolutely perfect, and a couple of the neighbors came calling with cookies.

  2. Pulling of a Christmas dinner with 5 courses, for 5 people, without a hitch was a real victory for me :) The soup was delightful, the puddings perfect & everything else turned out great too. I silently did a little victory dance in the kitchen before joining my guests again :D

  3. I have to agree about everything going smoothly - first for my tree trimming party and then Christmas Day. One more holiday meal to come on New Year's Day!

I was also able to give someone my one daughter knows some books who can't afford to buy her own. It's wonderful to be able to share my love of reading. So many of you have been so generous with us that it's nice to pay it forward.

  5. My little victory is I completed the Christmas season with no stress, no hassles, and had a peaceful, enjoyable day. Oh, and I ate plenty of pumpkin pie, which is always a wonderful thing. :D

  6. What a wonderful week, Kim!
I hope you enjoyed your movie on Boxing Day.
I wish you have a very Happy New Year!
My little victory this week is that I let my husband take me out to a very nice restaurant for my birthday and didn't stress too much about the bill. Lol.
I also had a fantastic Christmas day spending it with family and seeing all of the children (nieces and nephews as well as my own) very happy playing together. :)

  13. Our best victory this week was being able to use frequent flyer credits to help pay for airline tickets for a friend's son and his girlfriend who are marines on leave so they could get home for Christmas.

  14. My victory this year was planning the staff Christmas party for work - we actually had to do two parties and both had fantastic turnouts! And we didn't run out of food or kids gifts this year :) Good times!
