State of Romance, Washington Loves Readers Luncheon, and Showtime Book Trailers

Every Wednesday, I write contribute a column titled STATE OF ROMANCE to USA Today's HEA Blog. This week I explore romance novels set in Delaware at this link.   Join me in adding to the list by using #stateofromance on Twitter.

I also reference the Downton Abbey costume exhibit at the Winterthur Museum, also in Delaware.

Anticipation is running high for the Washington Loves Romance Luncheon hosted by the Washington Romance Writers. Check out this link for participating authors and registration form.

Showtime Book Trailers created an awesome promo for this event at this link.  I love it!

How about you - what are your thoughts on book trailers? One randomly selected commenter wins a book choice from my convention stash. Comments are open through Saturday, September 13, 10 pm in Baltimore. I'll post the winner on Sunday, September 14.

  3. I've seen a few really good book trailers but for the most part I'd rather read a review.

  4. I like movie trailers, but I often find the music in book trailers to be too distracting.

  5. It was nice but it was to long. They flash through the books to fast. I would have cut out some of the stuff in the beginning and focus on the books and authors.

  6. I'm a huge fan of book trailers... I love to see little snippets from the book and I absolutely love to see how others envision the characters.

  7. I do not watch them at all really. Much nicer to read about a book, as to see someones impression of it.

  10. I think book trailers are a good way to advertise the book and can appeal to those who like the visual cues to go with the book's words.
